Eye opening and obviously wrong ad at Fry's
Imagine my suprise, while sipping coffee and reading the morning paper, when I saw Fry's advertising the Samsung 840 Pro 250GB for $89. You can see it half way down the page on the right. Methinks somebody replaced the 840 (non-pro) 128GB with this... I was tempted to take the ad to a store and see what's up...and then I remembered it's over 1 hr round trip.

Should have posted a photo. I don't see it in that link...

Looks they edited the online version of the ad
It's on the back page of section A of Saturday's SJ Mercury News.

Fry's ads are full of mis-prints. Whenever you go into the store and look at the cork board where they post their current ads, there are always a few notes with the retractions on them, posted right next to the ads themselves. Sometimes they even put the same note of the shelf where the item is located.

"the best lies, are always at fry's."
Re: Eye opening and obviously wrong ad at Fry's
My first reaction was "holy shit!". Followed by "what time is it? Can I get there when they open?" Followed by "Oh, that can't be right. Let me check online." And, finally "Well, the product code doesn't match anything online...and I don't want to blow 90 min to be a guinea pig." Forever more to be known as The 4 Stages of Fry's.

..and it get's better. They replaced Saturday's bad ad with Sunday's: 120GB Samsung 840 Pro for $89.
Still - eye opening price. However, the 840 Pro is 128GB not 120GB....and when you check on the website, you see the sku associated with the ad is indeed the 120GB 840 (not pro).
