Pump Questions
I've been looking at several options to replace the little Eheim in my Reserator, and I've come up with more questions than answers. Perhaps someone has info on the following: - Is the Eheim 1060 a viable option? Too noisy, too much heat? Assuming size isn't a factor (that thing is HUGE). - What hap...

I haven't checked to see if my tracking number is active yet, but I did receive a letter from TekGems yesterday that included an invoice and a buisiness card from the owner. I imagine he thinks that anyone who would order 10 orange 120mm fans must be a business customer, as no one individual in thei...

I've only had mine running for a month now, but so far it's almost silent. I leave it turned on 24/7, even when I turn the PC off. I recently switched it off to install a new motherboard, and had to put my ear directly against it to make sure it was running before switching on the PC (I didn't insta...

At the very least, you could add some regular automobile antifreeze to the water. There are various opinions about how much to use, but I think I would go with 33% antifreeze, personally. Antifreeze contains anti-corrosives and lubricants that should help keep everything running smoothly. Make sure ...

Just use distilled water. I think I read somewhere that deionized water isn't good for the aluminum in the long run. Make sure you use an anti-corrosive like Redline Water Wetter or that Zerex racing stuff. If you look through this forum, you'll see a few posts about Reserator pump failures. It seem...

So has anyone put the Yate Loon orange fans up directly against the 'Nexus' stickered ones? Are they really exactly the same? I ordered a Nexus fan from Silicon Acoustics the day before I saw this thread about these Yate Loons. I ordered a couple of them from Computergeek, and received all 3 the sa...

I don't have an answer for your question, but I do have one of my own: What aditives, if any, were you using with your Reserator? There have been a few posts about pumps failing and getting noisy with time, but no one has really said much about why it's happening. I assume it's due to lack of anti-c...

More Reserator Observations
I just made the switch to water cooling for the first time last weekend with a Reserator 1. I read lots of post and reviews on it before purchasing, but still found a couple of things worth mentioning. - The incoming exhaust (hot water) fitting inside the Reserator uses the same plastic compression ...

1 vote for the Reserator
I just installed a Reserator on an Athlon XP 2500+ with a Zalman videocard watercooler on the Radeon 9800 Pro and on the chipset northbridge. The CPU is overclocked to 3200+ (2200 MHz actual) and the videocard is also midly overclocked. It runs fine even under load, and with the Enermax noise taker ...
