Thanks for the links. A couple of them were still very difficult to locate the right products, but EARS was the easiest. build a Plexi-Glass CPU Fan Duct

I ran across a plan for building a fan duct from the front fan back to the CPU. This avoid opening up a hole in the side of the case that funnels noise out of the case and into our ears. If I give it a try, I'll add some foam or rubber to isolate the plexiglass tube from the chasis to avoid vibratio...

I would try buying the inexpensive silent fans and painting the blades silver to reflect the LED lasers. Has anybody else tried it? It should be cheap and quieter than the clear bladed fans.

I think it would be handy to see a summary of a stock cpu cooler in every review or round-up of coolers. It would be nice to know that it really is worth the effort and without that reference most of us won't know how much quieter and/or cooler our cpu's could be.
