The point I was making is that this notion of wearing seatbelts being an individual choice is false, because it has obvious consequences for society as a whole. Statistically, seatbelts save lives and prevent serious harm. This leads to a very significant savings to society as a whole. That stateme...

Re: Here comes Big Mother "MADD"

First off, this entire thread should be locked on the grounds of Goodwin's Law. We've now had multiple references to Fascism and Nazis, so it seems like this post is hardly about discussing the respective merits and flaws of MADD. It's damn near impossible NOT to link MADD to Fascism, Nazism, and B...

Mar, I hope that was a joke of some sort. Life is risky and unpredictable, so it must be EVIL! Don't let Bush hear you say that or he'll start "the war on Life". I like that idea, thin out the 7 billion. That was a (bad) joke at the expense of the doomers. So what I'm getting out of this is, they w...

If you were savvy enough with a soldering iron, you could probably find an old keyboard and cut it in half, and then run some wires to reconnect what you've cut.

MADD is one of the most insane organizations there is. Driven by revenge, they frequently lie and cheat to spread their Nazi-like propaganda. They can go straight to hell, which had better freeze over before I would ever agree to them putting one of those damn things in my car.

It's people like you who protest death penalty, by saying that "innocent" people are freed from the death rows all the time, when innocent in the moral sense is not the same as innocent by law order. He was found "not guilty" by a court of law. If you are an American and have any desire whatsoever to see our legal system work properly, drop it. He may or may not actually be innocent (I'm trying to keep my personal opinion out of this), but as far as the courts are concerned, he didn't do it, and...

I'm not sure how having a wire that senses the speed of the fan, would change how much noise it makes.

Now if you're talking about connecting the fan to a PWM signal vs. connecting it to a regular DC signal, then yes, the noise could potentially be very different.
