Hi guys,

how do you remove that piece of metal at the bottom of the SLK3000B that the drive cage is clung onto? (The one near the front)

samsungs used to have two types of motors: JVC and NIDEC. NIDEC is generally better (I mean quieter) - read the reviews of spinpoints.

Well, I know that, but I have no chance to do that - the WinXP setup program terminates before that screen is dispalyed. It says it can't make a swap file. :?:

Samsung SP 80GB partially existant (???)

I've got a problem with my samsung spinpoint sata 80gb (sp0812c). It's connected to the mobo and the BIOS detects it, as well as the nvRAID, but any OS I boot into (Mandrake 10 install, XP install, Win98 floppy) says I have no disk in the computer. I tried making a RAID with it, I could do it but it...

I believe you're not right, since X800XL is as good or even better than 6800GT... but that only leaves me to congratulate you on that particular decision, too :D

All in all, nice work.

Well I'm not running any CPU intensive task most of the time (no folding at any rate) but I have an ordinary, stock Intel low-profile heatsink. Should be enough?

Slot1 cooling

Hello everyone, I have a noisy machine ( really noisy) where noisemakers are: PSU, CPU HSF and the HDD. The PSU is a 230W monster made by the well-known (at least in the PC silencers community) brand Target  and it's got one 80mm in the back, which just recently got broken. Broken means: it lik...

Thanks. I see something bad happened to my message (I wanted to edit it but ended up deleting everything) but at least you were able to read it. I'll stick with the Twinmoses then as they're a lot cheaper. (We also here have reports about them not working very well with Abit boards, for example the ...

Thanks, only I'm not sure whether the difference between the two nexuses justify the price rise. Apparently they do, so I'm opting for the upper one. Thanks for recommendations.
