Good temps. I think you can get them down a little more by using a little less or more thermal paste. Thanks. I suspect it is a matter of too little thermal paste this time. But if it's not terribly bad I think I'll pass redoing the process. It looks so calm and beautiful where it sits. :) The "lou...

"Vertical line" when applying thermal paste?
Arcticsilver.com says thermal paste should be applied on a "vertical line" for my i5-750 processor. Seems it depends on from what direction you look at the mobo/CPU when they say vertical. Any idea? I know most likely it wont matter much at all. I was going for a airsoft gun bullet sized blob in th...

I would say as long as the Seasonic has more than 150w (12.5A) on the 12v rail(s) then it should work, 200w (17A) should be comfortable. The label on the old PSU says: |------------------------------------------| |AC | 100-240V~7A 50/60Hz | |INPUT | | |------------------------------------------| |D...

i5-750 build with old Seasonic SS-400FB (Rev.03). Works?
I have an old Seasonic SS-400FB (Rev.03) that I plan to use with the following hardware:
i5-750, 8 GB DDR3, 1TB HDD, 2TB HDD, EN9600GT Silent, Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3, E-MU APS soundcard, SATA DVD.
Should I just buy a new one or will it work just fine?

Megahalems + Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3, will it match?
I read that someone had trouble mounting the thing on a GA-EP45T-Extreme board. The screws were apparently too long and the person had to put paperboard between the backplate and the mobo to make it work. Has anybody tried the Megahalems with any of the P55 Gigabyte mobos? Did you have this problem?...

Yes, that will work but on it's own won't help an enormous amount as it'll still run the same voltage. What you need to do is BIOS mod the card with NiBiTor. This would allow you to run a 9600GT with exactly the same frequencies and voltages as a Green Edition if you wanted. It may also be more pow...

The new green edition of the Geforce 9600GT would probably be a nice choice when it is available. Thanks! That one looks excellent (if it will be available passive). The thing is I'm looking for a card now and I guess it will take a while before this thing hits the stores. Has anybody successfully ...

Passive 9600GT, will it be too hot?
Sorry for the crappy english, but here goes my questions... I'm thinking about placing a passively cooled 9600GT in an old Dell Optiplex GX280 (Prescott P4 3.2 Ghz). I'm afraid that the box it will sit in is not sufficiently ventilated. No intake fan and the only outtake fan is an 80mm fan that take...

7200 RPM, Hitachi Travelstar vs. Seagate Momentus 7200.1
I can get the Seagate Momentus 7200.1 ST910021AS (100GB) and the the Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 HTS721010G9SA00 (100 GB) for just about the same price. But, I have to wait at least ten days (which I'd rather not) to get the Hitachi. The Hitachi does not seem to be exactly the one reviewed here on the ...

Cable free connection of Caviar SE16 in Mac Pro
Will the WD Caviar SE16 500GB work with snap-in, cable free connection in my Mac Pro? I got the feeling from the last part of the review that there was something "un-standard" about it. Please tell me I'm wrong.
Thanks in advance,
Mikael

SS-400FB & Antec P180 together?
How well will my SS-400FB power supply (where the fan is top mounted) work with a Antec P180 (where the power supply is in the bottom)?

Just placed an order on this one, last in stock. Is it considered to be as good as any of the Rev.03 Seasonics noise wise?

One shop in the UK had Seasonic Rev.A3's for a short period (but not any more) and one shop in Sweden has them. As I'm in Sweden I'd really like to know what shop it is. First of all, thanks for all the input! OK, being a first time poster I've obviously done some first time errors. :) First, I acc...

Swedish silent first-timer looking for advice
I've been trying to settle on some gear to quiet down my Ahtlon XP 2200+ system, but must honestly say that I'm a little confused by all the options. Right now, this is what I've come up with (mostly resorting to the "Recommended" section of SPCR with the first option from the top that is available ...
