Just wondering if a slipstream 800 would move as much air at 12v as a tri-cool on low in a p182?
These tricools are already clacking after 5 days. ARGH

I can't say for certain that they didn't tweak the unit they sent to mike for review, but it all looks in order as per anything I can see. I have a 650 and so far it has been fantastic, I have never heard it spin up once and I think my power consumption is a little above average for SPCR since I am...

Or, just use a PSU with an 80mm fan in the back. That way the air doesn't have to make any major turns and it is getting cool air anyway, so you would really have to have a lot of draw for the fan to have to spin up. That Antec 650 looks nice if it isn't cherry picked for the review. I MUCH prefer ...

It doesn't matter. Why would it? There's space both above and under the PSU. With my P182, I mounted the PSU fan up since I stuffed cables under the unit. Well for the fan up argument, one could have the thought that heat does rise towards the top of the PSU chamber and might have a better chance o...

Looking for definitive PSU orientation for P182..
I've done a decent amount of searching this morning on how to set up my new p182 and come to what seems a deadlock. I've found info supporting both ways of orientation (upside down, fan on top and vice versa).

bozar wrote:800 RPMs are enough but undervolted 1200s give better noise/airflow ratio so it's up to you. If you're not going to invest in some sort of voltage reducing device i'd say go for the lesser.
Would I be able to reduce voltage by adjusting the fan header settings instead of using fanmate or the like?

Newbie P182 fan speed question. Scythe 800's or 1200rpm?
On a p182 review here the quote was that the reviewer could not imagine the fans in the upper chamber of a p182 ever having to be on more than 'low' (speaking of tricools). Of the system in my .sig would this still be a fair assumption? The hs/fan is a xigmatek 1283 w/ the pwm fan that comes stock. ...

Could you comment if you have used/are using the DFS122512L-PWM Scythe Kama 120mm PWM fan? I see it was reviewed back a ways here, but curious about real-world experiences.

Beyond pointing to where it very well could be coming from; that's about the extent of what I know on it. I went through what you apparently have, trying to listen to the video card, the mobo, the monitor, etc.. finally was behind the system when it was on and right by the exhaust fan - there was th...

Sounds like coil whine from your PSU. I've got it with my current system, but I'm upgrading the PSU and maybe it will go away. You can probably hear it the clearest if you put your ear near the exhaust fan of the PSU. Some PSU units just don't like some other parts and sometimes won't play well with...

Most of the evening I listened to it whine on and off during a few hours of UT3. Wife was gone so..... Unless they are OOS on the 620hx I'm going to splurge and get one. This neo550 will be going in her system, which is mid-range (non-gaming) for the most part. I've long since abandoned the 80mm fan...

Whistling / whining PSU about to drive me crazy!
The subject is an Antec NeoHE550 and ever since I put in an ATI 4870 (two different brands, one 512mb the other now 1gb) my PSU whistles and whines as the browser draws in webpages. Even as things animate on the screen on occasion. I've checked : LCD flat screen, hard disc, motherboard all make no n...

Brand new in the package Arctic Cooling Twin Turbo. Bought it, don't need it once I received it, don't want to waste $$ sending it back.
$40 shipped. I'll even throw in the receipt for warranty purposes.

Was curious as to the choices of mobo you might consider for this case if you are getting it? I was thinking about a shuttle but this one might fit the bill -- noticing the matx only and thinking about that new asus board..

While mine has not broken yet, I find the power button to buzz / vibrate incessantly even though not a trace of vibration can be felt anywhere on the case.
