Just to make things more clear: Unless you have a NVIDIA 6800 or higher video card, you don't need (and cannot use) a PCI-E power connector that only comes on the 500 and 600 watt versions of the S12. Wow, this thread has certainly exploded from the original 10 replies it had when I last checked it  Well, I finally decided on the S12 500. Why? Here's a couple of reasons. In less than a month, I will be upgrading to a SLI setup. Therefore, I want to have the PCIe connector which the 430w s...

I just ordered the 8510K11 from Mcmaster also. Previously I was doing the 'split rubber heatsink down the middle' trick but that cost more and didnt look as good. The videocard and the powersupply. After I am done with those I will look at an heatsink& fan, & fans for...

Quiet power supply for nVidia 6800 Ultra videocard ?

Hello, I am currently using an Antec TruePower 550 watts and it's noisy. I am looking for recommendations from people who have this Ultra videocard. 1) Can I convert it into a really "quiet" power supply by changing the fans? 2) Which quiet power supply has been proven to work rock-steady with the 6...
