Samsung labels their HD lines after their max capacity per platter. P120 has 120GB (well, actually 125GB) per platter, for a maximum of 250GB with two platters (on the SP2504C, still unavailable). My new PC, which I'm picking up this weekend, will have an SP2004C. It's bound to beat my current Penti...

DDR memory - what to look for?
Does any characteristic of DDR memory have any impact on the quietness of a setup?
More specifically, if you don't overclock the RAM, does heat emission vary depending on memory stock speed, latency and other parameters?
TIA.

Final decision: Enermax NoiseTaker or BeQuiet P5?
Yeah, I know, Seasonic is best, but you can't get hold of them around here. If they don't get here soon, my two other candidates are:
Enermax Noisetaker
Review
BeQuiet
Review
System would be typical desktop AMD with a 6600GT card and one S-ATA HD.
Any suggestions?

TTIC NPH-775-1
Official page
Interestingly, it came out second on a big French Socket 775 cooler roundup (with an 80mm fan), whereas it received a rather negative review on PC Modding Malaysia (with a 92mm fan).
Price is €44,99 without fan.

Additionally, I'd like to see some more passively cooled NF4 MBs. There is (or was) one: the Chaintech VNF4 http://www.chaintechusa.com/tw/images/Products/Motherboard/VNF4Ultra_L.jpg Unfortunately, cooling wasn't so efficient, according to xbitlabs : After this discovery we got to overclocking with...

Thanks everyone. Frank, No, I haven't bought anything yet - that's my purchase list at the moment (I'm waiting for Venice and Windows x64 to materialize). I did look at the passive Gigabyte 6600 but some reviews said it wasn't really effective, due possibly to bad assembly or QC (same thing just was...

Inexpensive, silent case (looks not important) ?
I see most of you have very sexy-looking cases, but in my setup that would be a waste (the PC is fairly hidden under a desk). I'm going to build myself a PC with AMD64 3200+ (see full list below). And it won't be a 'power system' at all. My first option for the case was the Antec SLK3000B, which fit...

I'm in a similar dilemma. I can get: Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu for 52 CHF Thermalright XP90 with bundled fan for 65-76 CHF Or even an XP120 with a Papst U-Silent fan for 89 CHF (obviously overkill, I know, but great value for money!) For reference 1 CHF = 0.828 USD My planned setup (I'm still thinking it ...
