BIG warning on these air filters! these are not just cotton filters, they are oil impregnated cotton filters. you don't just wash them. you use a cleaning product, wash, dry, then re oil them. i would strongly not recommend one in a computer. in a car, the oil will breathe out over time and coat the...

not sure if this is off topic for this but if you want to monitor your load temps get rthdribl http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/rthdribl/ it run a windowed real time renderer so you can watch your software temp gauge while under load. if your games don't corrupt or crash while playing then i wouldn't ...

i had no problem taking apart my pny 6800gt. you do need a small eyeglass screwdriver and a bit of force for some of the screws. its a whole lot easier to take one apart than to put it back together. my first waterblock didn't fit the 6800, so i had to put it all back together, order a new waterbloc...

i just bought the same hard drive and would agree with rtsai. it is much quieter than my old 80gb western digital drive i replaced. not silent, but mellow and inoffensive. right now it's hard mounted and it does vibrate a bit, still less than the old drive. i'm debating right now over how i want to ...

yeah , what Mar. said, the product is "3M™ Fluorinert™" theres been a few crazies on the various overclocker sites who have submurged their computers in it. they usually misspell it flourinet. only a couple problems with it. first you have to keep the hard drive out of it so it can breathe. second, ...

yay! time to rant over percieved differences. not just audiophiles, but things that make your engine run better, your cellphone battery last longer, or your water taste better. to justify the difference between two things you have to do a double blind test. you have the listener not be aware of whic...

a home improvement store should sell regular feet, like for couches or tables. they come in wood or plastic, with felt or rubber pads on them, etc. personally i think most speakers could get along with them and not the expensive spikes, but i'm also one of those crazy people who wont but a $500 powe...

here's 2 cents from my knowledge. im an electrician. i deal mainly with mains power, building hotels and such. i'm not so hot diagnosing a circuit board. the transformer on the pole is hot. it's got oil flowing through it to huge fins all exposed to the air. a 480 to 120v 200amp transformer just has...

finally got around to opening up my comp and finding out where that noise was coming from. i was figuring that one of my fans was going out, or my waterpump was damaged. of course it couldn't be that inexpensive of a problem. my hard drive sounds like a 52x cd drive, even with a wierd spin down whir...

my water cooling loop is one such wierd situation. since it has video, cpu and northbridge in one loop and all the background tasks running, the idle temp of the cpu is rather higher than most others with watercooled cpu's. but the load temps don't rise much because of the efficiency of the radiator...

what type of material is best to mount pump?

I have an Eheim 1250 on the bottom of my case and it vibrates the case. Right now its bolted to the floor through rubber grommets with a foam block compressed under it. I'm thinking about getting some vibration mounts like what chylld used in this post: http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php...
