Re: LianLi PC-C50 HTPC iRacing Build
Hi All - Late reply to this thread, mainly because the CPU coolers recommended are no longer available in my area due to their age. Can anyone recommend a decent passive cooler for this case which will fit around the RAM? I'm now running an i5 and the stock cooler has a habit of stalling on startup ...

Re: LianLi PC-C50 HTPC iRacing Build
I had the system running without filters for 2 weeks and the inside was filthy – we have a lot of construction near our place. So as for noise, with the nexus 120mm fans they are pretty much silent at 7v, the loudest component is the CPU fan and the Antec tri-cool on Med (doesn’t start reliably on L...

LianLi PC-C50 HTPC iRacing Build
Been a while since posting on SPCR - after having a P180 case way back when & then moving to an iMac, SPCR seemed the natural place to start when building an HTPC. There weren't many posts featuring the PC-C50 case, once of the few cases which would fit inside out home entertainment unit. The doors ...

Does anyone have a couple drives running in the lower chamber of a P180 with one of these Phantom babies? I've 2x Maxline SATA drives, nexus @ 7v, followed by the Phantom 350 and boy does that sucker heat up. The HDD's are quite warm to touch, even with nice fresh air being sucked over them. The dri...

P180 + 7800GTX - ducting mod
Hi All - I just thought I'd post a quick pic of a duct I've whipped up for my case. I found my temps to be pretty high after installing the ninja + x2 3800 and had a hunch that the size of the 7800gtx card might have something to do with it... (preventing clean air from the front air intake making i...

Ive managed to fix my sata \ nforce problem, dont know how much of it relates to the asus board imparticular, or nforce 4 in general... there are loads of resources available, so if you want a maxtor drive (for whatever reason) i think it would be safe to purchase one, assuming you dont mind going o...

One thing to be aware of is Maxtor Diamondmax 10\11 + Maxline III nForce4 compatability. Check your motherboard specs and SATA controller driver details before purchasing... I found this out the hard way with the A8N-SLI Premium and the Maxline drives crashing, not being recognised + corrupted data....

Well here it is - 7800GTX with a nexus 80mm fan swapped out. It runs on 5v pretty much all the time and idles at 41deg. What an overkill. I think that fan was measured at 18db in some article. In recommended fans they even said it didn't start reliably at voltages lower then 7V. But whatever suits ...

Well here it is - 7800GTX with a nexus 80mm fan swapped out. It runs on 5v pretty much all the time and idles at 41deg. I've played games for a few hours and i havent seen the card go above 60 and thats OC'd to 490mhz. The loudest thing in the case are the 2 Maxtor Maxline III drives, so I'd say the...

I have the zalman vf-700 with a swapped out nexus fan on my xfx 7800gtx and with the fan on medium during gaming, my video card temps hardly go over 50... On the low settings is not even audible... less noise than hdd's in a P180 lower chamber. Go with the Zalman & swap the fan, you won't regret it =)

On a slightly off-topic note, I would LOVE it if someone managed to make the hole bigger on the piece of metal separating the PSU chamber from the rest of the case (where the plastic cover is with the hole to allow cables to come through). It is just too small, and is really bad for bottom feeding ...

I've done a bit of searching and only found a handfull of posts relating to this HDD encosure... Is anyone using one? When you say the Top fan - do you mean the front fan linked to the upper chamber or the top rear fan? If it's the top rear fan, I'd suggest using this as an exhaust. If this is the fan you mean, then the spoiler is more for allowing unrestricted airflow (incase books, etc are placed on the case). Th...

Do you have any hard drives in the upper cage? I removed the upper cage completly since I wasn't going to place any hard drives there. Hi Gurus - I've got a question relating to the above fantastic products =) It's a cross between CPU cooling & Case cooling - so I'll post in this thread...
