Anybody have an HP LP2475w ? HP LP2475w I've had a couple of these and they both emitted a faint hum. The factory settings have the brightness set to 90%, which is way too bright. When I lower it below ~80% though I start to hear a slight hum from the monitor, which wasn't there at 90%. (The review...

I've had a GA-K8N Ultra-9 for about a month now and haven't had any problems at all. I'm not a gamer or over-clocker though, so don't push it particularly hard - I'm a s/w developer and liked the full feature set and lack of Northbridge fan (to give me a reasonably quiet m/c). I'm running: 3200+ (Ve...

Maybe you spotted this already, but... Gigabyte do a very similar board based on nForce 4 Ultra (i.e. without the SLI, that you don't want), also with a fanless chipset heatsink: GA-K8N Ultra-9 . Maybe this would save you a bit of money (that you could then give to Seasonic). I'm torn between that b...

Sorry that I don't have any real experiences but... I think that getting fresh/external air directly to the CPU HS is definitely the way to go (as opposed to just making sure the CPU air is immediatley vented). Isn't this what the BTX form factor is all about? Once the air has passed over the CPU HS...

re. the Samsung SpinPoints: I read on another forum that Samsung were using two types of motors, Nydec and JVC, with the Nydec based drives being the quietest. This was for the P80 series drives when they were only SATA 150. How to identify which motor a particular drive has I have no idea (maybe so...

Maybe you spotted this already, but... Note that the Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-9 has a chipset fan on it. There's a similar mobo from Gigabyte, also nForce4 Ultra, that doesn't have the chipset fan: GA-K8N Ultra-9 . The only differences I could see are that the 'XP' version you referred to has the additiona...
