Yea u missed out something alrite... Is your idle wattage with the HDD spinning or with it spun down? It's only a few watt difference compared to a notebook HDD, but that's quite a good part of the total 40W. It's hard to have your Seasonic SS-330GB to be as efficient as the notebook power brick. I've seen a 2-3 degree increase switching from Shinetsu to Zalman's bundled generic goo. But, it may be just the application. I don't think I saw more than 1C difference between Servisol, Anabond, and Nanofusion with my Ninja and undervolted A64. Perhaps the difference will be greater with a hotter ...

Wouldn't it be faster to just remove the old fan and screw the new fan outside the PSU without the funnel, while changing airflow charataristics such that it sucks from a bigger angle and not just from the funnel? That's what I did b4. Also, it's possible to find screws long enough that can screw bo...

Can we have SPCR reviews on the 500W? Pweety pweese? The fan behaviour may be different, and that may make it a good fight against current Seasonics (and 1 or 2 Corsairs). Of course I'm not eliminating the possibility of a swap to a faster fan too, since even Seasonic has done that... In places wher...

Unless you're using a server rack, if you're using a slim-case, high chances there will be a blowhole on top of where the CPU would be. If you can make use of that, the allowance for air intake problem will be solved, and it'd be better than tower cooler since the fan will be drawing cool air. The s...

George van Kralingen, are you in any way affiliated with Coolermaster.??? Andy The way he reviewed is interesting. First it's "should only be used with EE CPUs" - so it cannot cool normal CPUs. Next, "making it even more silent with more airflow". Cool, I didn't know you can have something more sil...

That ~0.3°C/W isn't really a reliable comparative due to the simple fact that the original test CPU had a TDP of 62W while the current CPU has a TDP of 130W. Even if we take the measured AUX12V power of 78W, the difference in core heat is just too big for the comparison to be reliable. That's why ...

A PSU won't cause the CPU and GFX down the loop to get too hot, after all it's only supplying the power with 80% efficiency, so for 80W of CPU + GFX the PSU only emits 20W of heat.
