That's what I did in the end. It was a no-brainer really, - 25pence for a yard of elastic, - £13.00 plus postage plus VAT for a six inch square of very thin Sorbothane

Can't hear the drive and I imagine the suspension method gives much better cooling.

With the ICYBOX the top section of the aluminium case is in contact with the metal casing of the drive.

As for the warranty, you best check this upon receiving the drive. It's better to find out you got an OEM drive at this point than when it fails and it's too late to send it back. Recently bought an ICYBOX fanless external USB encloure and fitted a Barracuda 120GB drive in it. It runs cool and very quiet stood on a thin piece of foam. I use it mostly as a jukebox and can't hear it over the music.
