Re: Why is Corsair VX450 so hard to find for sale? Alternati
If you still want the Corsair name on your power supply Nope, more concerned with a high quality components in a power supply with 80+ efficiency for a good price. Corsair has been that for me on my past two builds, but I don't need 500+watts for this next one, and all of their high quality lines o...

Re: What not to buy & what I ended up with
To add to the data: I had a Corsair HX-520 that was perfect in an Antec P150. No fan noise, no buzz, squeal, whine, or anything else. Upgraded to an HX-650 with my current build, also perfect and silent in my P180 Mini. Building a new Sandy Bridge box and looking for a Corsair VX450 (Seasonic built ...

Re: X-400 buzz noise
fwiw, I had the high-pitched noise experience with an Antec PSU nearly a decade ago. Chalked it up to a noisy capacitor, since it responded exactly as one poster described above, where it would be a faint noise even when PSU was off and it even lasted a couple seconds after power cable was removed. ...

Why is Corsair VX450 so hard to find for sale? Alternatives?
Are they about to replace it since it has been out for several years? I am looking for something around 400 watts that is durable, actively cooled (120mm fan) but quiet, and a good bang for the buck. The Corsair PSUs made by Seasonic fit that bill well for a decent price and good quality with genera...

Re: Where to buy replacement Antec TriCool 200x25mm fan?
So the implication is that the technical spec description of the top fan in the P180 Mini is incorrect and it's actually 30mm deep?
I wish I had a way to measure mine right now to confirm/deny that.

Where to buy replacement Antec TriCool 200x25mm fan?
Their website lists a 200x30mm Big Boy but that wouldn't fit in the spot at the top of the P180 Mini since that fan is stated to be only 25mm deep and just barely clears the top of the motherboard.
Any idea if there's an OEM or reseller that offers the 200x25mm model TriCool?
Thanks.

Re: Sandy Bridge, Part 2: Intel DH67BL & Asus P8H67-M EVO
Greetings. I am curious to know how peripheral card fitment is on the Asus board, particularly if running a modern dual-slot GPU in the PCI-E x16 slot and a soundcard in the PCI slot. Is there reasonable clearance or not? I see the Intel board appears to have more clearance between the PCI-E and PCI...

Yes, you do have a less flexible setup in that sense, but overall it's a much better case. The parts feel much more durable, there is much-improved cable management, and it's a pretty large uATX case to work inside. And, on the upside, it can fit much longer GPUs than the P150 could, since the HD tr...

Size comparison of Antec P150 and Mini P180
For anyone wondering about relative sizes: The Mini P180 is slightly wider, almost identical in height, and about an inch shorter. (The Mini P180 is MicroATX, the P150 is full ATX.) Pic1 Pic2 Pic3 Pic4 The MiniP180 looks and feels like it should be more durable. Over the past three years I've had it...

I'm also considering the Gigabyte UD2 uATX board (as I just added to the thread title), because it's a good $55-60 cheaper and has solid reviews. My only curiosity is that there is a v1.1 revision out but no word on what differences it has from v1.0 and who knows which revision one might get when th...

Anyone running EVGA P55 Micro (E562) or Gigabyte UD2?
Thinking about picking one up for my next build in a Mini P180.
Looking for user reviews, input, tips, cautions, etc.
Thanks.

Here are two update articles from Anandtech. The first one mentions overclocking and power consumption data. In the second one there's a nice comprehensive run of charts showing of where the three new Lynnfield CPUs slot in performance against a nice array of other CPUs: http://www.anandtech.com/cpu...

Great article about two very interesting caes, but I'm left wondering if it's possible to get a quiet PC in there with a mid-range graphics card. I would warn buyers against any GPU that can't stay under ~75C under load. Temps much above that are pathetic, both in regards to the longevity of the card itself and for the heat it's putting off into the rest of your case. If AMD/NVidia can't design adequate cooling for a given card, I will wait u...
