thanks, I guess if I'm not web hosting, I should be ok.

Unforunately, I only had a chance to test out the slower settings with firefox. Haven't installed Office, PHotoshop and dvd editing stuff yet so I wasn't sure how the drop in seek times would affect those apps.

Can AAM silence Samsung P80SD with minimal performance loss

Just got a Spinpoint P80SD (Nidec) and was disappointed with the seek noise. Unfortunately, I don't have any acoustic equipment so I'm relying on my ear & mfg. specs. Ed, Thanks for the explanation. I didn't realize Abit EQ was reading the voltage set by CrystalCPUID. I think I'm gonna get a 3000 Venice with the AN8 V2 (whenever that comes out)
