Unforunately, I only had a chance to test out the slower settings with firefox. Haven't installed Office, PHotoshop and dvd editing stuff yet so I wasn't sure how the drop in seek times would affect those apps.

Just got a Spinpoint P80SD (Nidec) and was disappointed with the seek noise. Unfortunately, I don't have any acoustic equipment so I'm relying on my ear & mfg. specs.
