I'm still laughing. Xbit labs results show a hard time getting more than 612W DC... even with TWO more 140W 8800GTX's that's still under 1kW... let alone two. Soooo... umm... why the hell would we need 2kW in a gaming rig that can't pull more than the 15A (1650W @ 110V) the standard US NEMA 5-15R wa...

Nope. IIRC only the first few Ninja Rev B's had the wider round bracket at the CPU base, which caused interference with capacitors-- the current ones have a narrower straight bracket.

I really don't understand why so many people/review sites are recommending looking at the X38, it's just another overclocker chipset that is almost guaranteed to have higher power consumption with very little benefit. Aka the 680i and 975x, both chipsets I would never touch. Nobody currently needs ...

Anandtech's got not one, but THREE articles on the P35 out now.

I think I'll be skipping P35 and waiting for X38 depending on the improvements and and power consumption.

It only does no additional wear if you shift perfectly . That's extremely difficult to do. Clutchless upshifting is theoretically easy, but in reality I find blipping the throttle on a downshift to make for an easier rev-match. However, 99.999% of people who try to shift a conventional helical-geare...

I think the rule of buy.com is to make sure you're buying exactly what you want and the item isn't likely to be broken in shipping. yep, buy.com is pretty reliable, reseller ratings aside. Now dealing with customer service there is a nightmare... and shipping speeds aren't the greatest. In fact, th...

I wouldn't ship a system with such a heatsink installed if I could avoid it, but if it's got the usual through-hole bolted mounting, you'd *probably* be ok. Remove the top plate covering the NB heatsink's fins, that'll help. Connect a low-profile fan to the area above the VRM's will help as well, since they're joined by heat pipes. IIRC there's one guide out there where they do that, plus the remove the whole setup and clean off/apply new thermal grease...
