I was reading that the other day - 35watts looks very low, which is good - strange how some other sites mention figures of 51watts and even upto 67watts. I've generally gone with XBitlabs figures though.

What temps are people getting with 7600GS...now it's summer?

Seeing as it's passive, and the last time the topic of load temps were talked about were nearly a couple of months back, I'm just wondering what people are getting with much warmer room temperatures? Are they getting much hotter? Things not much different?

Link to 'Panaflo' specialist in UK!

I've only just found out about it, but in case anybody else didn't know: http://www.dorothybradbury.co.uk/

Apparantly, and again this is probably very old news here, Panaflo's are now called NMB-MAT now...

I'm pretty sure that if you ran an X2 at 70c or more for very long you would regret it sooner rather than later. I think it would be best to keep your max load temps under 55c for prolonged use. AMD chips are a different beast to the Intels in that they really do not like running hot. I find it ver...

I'm actually quite impressed with the fixing method the 9500 AM2 cooler has for AM2 motherboards - unlike the old version, it simply uses the existing retention brackets so much easier to install.

I certainly wouldn't buy any components now and then buy the CPU much later, as they'll most likely be cheaper in a month or so. If you can, wait as long as possible for Conroe - if you really have to get to get stuff before July 1st, then leave the motherboard as well until after - the DDR2 memory,...

Thanks for your reply diver!! Hmm, I need to do a bit of thinking - I live in a cool climate (North of England) so I can't see my room temperature getting as hot as yours (i.e 27C), so I may just attempt to lower the fan speeds on a reference fan card and save myself a bit of money, especially as I ...

Re: 7600GT, 7900GT and RivaTuner

I saw this trick over in the Guru3d forums. To get RivaTuner 15.8 to work with the 7600GT and 7900GT navigate to Power User, System, ForceVGADeviceID and enter 92. That is the code for a 7800GTX. RivaTuner will exit. Restart and it recognized my XFX 7600GT as NV4B(A2,12x1,5vp) with 256mb DDR2. Not ...

Gigabyte K8N51GMF-9 - is it undervoltable?

And I don't mean with the BIOS - I already know it isn't.... :) but can it allow the CPU to be undervolted with CrystalCPUID? If so, I may consider getting it as a cheaper alternative as it has a nice feature set.

Ta for any info!

That Gigabyte AM2 nForce 500 SLi x16 is of the few AM2 boards I've seen with a heatpipe (or fan), no AM2 mobo from Asus have it so far even though they used it on 939 models. Asus M2NPV-VM , the successor to A8N-VM. Many chip heatsinks on nVidia AM2 boards are tiny and passively cooled (no heatpipe), why? 7600GS - What temperatures are the Passive Versions Getting?

Hi,

Just wondering what kind of temperatures the passive versions of 7600GS are getting in both idle and load modes. I was thinking of getting 7600GT (which is alot faster) but was hearing things about how noisy the stock fan is, so thinking about the 7600GS now.

Thanks for any help!
