Thanks for your help
I've decided to go for the Antec Solo, so now ATX options are available
Which motherboard should I go for? P43 or P45?

Help me with first build in 5 years

Looking to put together a PC which will be connected to a TV 1080p. Will just be for general use, surfing, watching movies (including bluray) and occasional gaming. No overclocking, undervolting, dual GPU etc, just want a hassle-free put together system. Prefer mATX if possible. Options are: AMD 520...

I agree with some of the replies here.
In my opinion, the two easiest options are:
To duct the CPU cooler to the exhaust fan and stick with the bottom fanned PSU.
Or get a straight thru design PSU.

What else? Hmm... change the CPU cooler?
Give your suggested set up a go?
Or buy a p180!

Is it only the 320 gb that whines? Anyone else with other capacity WD drives have any comments?

Hmmmm, I had my zalman NB47J hanging too. Luckily my case had a window, but now it doesn't. Is there any other way of attaching it? The plastic thingy seems to have lost its "tension/spring"

The original p180 (before revision) came with a 120mmx38mm antec fan for the lower chamber. This might pose a problem if your power supply is longer than normal and the wires get into the fan's way.

The front fan in the upper chamber might just fit.

Thanks for the fast reply. I guess I could give WD a shot. After all, they are made in my home country...

So which model should I be looking at if I want a 250gb quietest sata one? There's like heaps of model names which I'm not familiar with and there's special edition etc etc :?:

The lesser of which evils?

Hi there, I could use some opinion on which hdd to get.. I'm currently using a noisy but reliable seagate 7200.9 250gb sata hdd. Seagate has served me well and been very reliable. WD on the other hand, well I've had one fail. A flatmate had a DOA recently, whilst a friend has just sent back his repl...

If you really want a p150 or solo, then go for it. A case will last you quite a long time (hopefully), so you won't regret paying that extra amount (or be left with a case which was your second choice).

As far as I know, the P180B has all those changes. I bought my P180 last week and it's exactly the same as the original one in the article, except for the front door being fixed (aluminium-plastic-aluminium).

Not sure about the price differences in your area, but a stock passively cooled 7600GS seems to be another option to the 6600GT.

Welcome to SPCR buddy!

Good luck with the PSU ducting. What kind of PSU do you have? Is it a straight-through type?

Have you considered the Zalman RC56?
Not sure if it's sold separately where you're at.
It's relatively cheap in NZ, and gives around 7V depending on which fan you're using.
