Re: If I go with an aluminum case (questions)

i thought about the p180 but not really a fan. the fact that they still have door problems on their cases really bothers me too. I own a P180 SPCR ( edition :D ) edition and had the same issue with the door. However, sending a request to Antec solved this problem, I've received a new door (actually...

I was wondering the exact same thing. I recently received my P180, and though it was marvalously more nice than my TT Tsunami (yes TT, sorry!). In my Tsunami I had 2 Nexusses running at 12 volt which I thought was quiet at first, later I started cursing that soft sound I was still hearing but didn't...

Seriously, the Zalman NB47J is a good HS, as long as you have decent airflow through your system you should be allright.

It's easy to install too, and you won't have to buy a new mobo.

Like Neil said: go with Zalman! Seriously!

Any cable tips are welcome though. Duct tape and tie wraps are your best mates! 8) Consider watching other ppl's cases and get some Ideas from them. Also, plan your cabling well. I've planned mine reasonably and now I need a minimal amount of cable surface in the way of airflow, the rest is either ...

suspend the drive?

Have a look at the HDD Suspension... Show your pics! for ideas.

My advice: rotate the drive 90 degrees so it's on it's side, that way you can use elastic bands to suspend it. note: you can only have one drive this way in the drive bay

Also unless your PSU comes equipped with the two or three pin "female"connectors, you can't hook it up to the PSU unless you have electronic skills I think. Correct me if I'm wrong Firetech but PSU's usually come with the molex connectors the mobo connector and maybe some sata's and a PciE there is ...

I don't know whether this is possible so I hope other people will fill me in: Flip the PSU upside down and duct it's intake to the grill at the top of it. It should allow the PSU to get nice cool air, hmm maybe the intake will suck up hot air from the lower exhaust, maybe some bent sheet or a cardbo...

If Zalman says yes that would mean that the HS will not cross the boundaries of the mb. Now, the seasonic psu has a 120 mm intake fan on the bottom which, I guess, will suck up a large portion of the heat, that's great for cooling the CPU but I doubt it would do your psu any good and might ramp up a...

Don't use them! I've had those contraptons from hell in my TT Tsunami and first thing they knew they were in the dustbin. No matter how tight they can clamp, there's always that tiny incompatibility that makes some vibrations, and if they don't they will in time. Browse the forum for some suspension...

I'm not too experienced around here but the Ninja is a good way to go, actually it would be nice to list a case you are using or planning to use as this would give people a great sence of the airflow paths you're planning to use. The gpu might be a no noise solution, but I'm not sure whether the sur...

As I see it the mobo is mounted similarly like in the inside of a case, with normal components inserted and a HS with a fan, I don't see how this would stress the mobo in another way as if it were inside a case

About the screw that spins in and out, it's probably too tight in the stand off so when you unscrew it, or try to, the stand off twists with the screw. This results in the standoff itself being unscrewed, I don't know if this is the case but it seems plausible as the motherboard tray will probably b...

I swapped in a Nexus Real Silent fan in my Cooler Master Realpower ACLY and it has a warranty void if removed sticker, I don't know but maybe if I get warranty issues the judge will probably say: "look, the sticker isn't removed, okay, it's broken, but it isn't removed".
