So are you planning on putting the laptop between foams as well :-? The fan on the laptop is likely going to be noisier as well? I have noted that manufacturers of LCD displays give "zero dead pixel" guarantees to only some of their product lines. Also have read that panels are sorted for quality an...

I've ordered the Shuttle SD11G5 and was wondering the same question myself. Random points: - In a desktop system I decided to use 3.5" HD (Samsung P120 250 GB) - Shuttle takes normal desktop-size optical drives (should be easy to spot one at $50 range?) - DiNovo is way too expensive. I bought Logite...

3.5 HDDs produce 7-9 W of heat, while the rest of the system (CPU, graphics, memory) produces many times more. IMO the HDD generated heat is not the problem, the lack of any airflow for the HDD, south/northbridge and the memory is. I read the Shuttle SD11G5 being tested with a 75W PCI Express graphi...

Antennas should be of specific length and shape for tuning to a specific frequency. Also, placing the antenna inside a grounded metal box (Faraday's cage) is a bad idea. Running the antenna CABLE inside the PC wouldn't matter, but there is no benefit of it either.

UPDATE: 3. Running case open with an extra fan blowing above the ICH6, 915G, RAM and below HDD cools the system to hover around 30 degrees celsius, and my kids just reported Sims 2 NOT hanging for some 2-3 hour gameplay. No crashes at all when running case open & with an extra fan! Added 60x60x10 f...

I have a MZ915 system on the test bench right now. Some issues with the fan controller is delaying things. I have just built a system on the MZ-915 M. I'd like to share my observations.
