Re: Is the Seasonic X-460 fanless PSU okay for my rig?
Thanks for the replies. I already ordered the X-460. I hope it will be as awesome as I expect it to be. Reviews would indicate an excellent performer.

Re: Slowing down Thermalright Shaman fan
Take a look at these. They will simplify everything for you. They are so easy, so simple, so flexible that once you start to use them you will never go back to your old ways. The nice part about them is that whatever you set our fans at, it is easy to replicate exactly without fiddling around with ...

Re: Slowing down Thermalright Shaman fan
You could use a 3pin splitter cable to have one FanMate control two similar fans, as long as the power limit of the FanMate and the motherboard connector is not surpassed. Usually for relatively low speed fans it will not be a problem. Personally I prefer to also use a 4pin molex converter in such ...

Slowing down Thermalright Shaman fan
I am buying a Thermalright Shaman for my HD6970 and I need to find a way to make the fan as quiet as possible. I'd like some ideas on how to do this. The problem is that every single fan header on my motherboard is already in use (there's 5 of them). I'm currently using 5 separate Zalman Fan Mate 2'...

Is the Seasonic X-460 fanless PSU okay for my rig?
I want to get a new PSU for my system because I have found that my Enermax MODU82+ 525w is too noisy. I don't think it originally did this but now it seems the fan makes a clicking noise that I find very annoying. Will the X-460 be enough to power this machine?: Case: Antec P182 CPU: Intel Core i5-2...

Re: Sandy Bridge, Stay with original Ninja or go for new coo
No, actually at load I go past 50C with the current setup, especially prolonged torture testing.
I decided to go with Mugen 2 Rev.B on my new Sandy - going with a push-pull setup. Should be quite a bit better. Thanks for the help.

Re: Sandy Bridge, Stay with original Ninja or go for new coo
I have no clue about the TDP's... Maybe you could tell me (if you know)? My current CPU is a lowly E6600 and I'm likely getting the i5 2500k. My temps are alright, but probably could be better. Depending on the CPU fan voltage it's idling between 30 and 35 C (somewhere around there).

Sandy Bridge, Stay with original Ninja or go for new cooler?
Question is in the title. Someone told me that the ASRock P67 MOBO supports LGA775 coolers, and my trusty old Ninja qualifies. I'm considering staying with the Ninja. Would I see a big performance boost by moving to for example Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme Rev.C?

Re: Ninja backplate (original)
I'm actually a few steps behind you weemies. I've been trying to get that darn backplate off and so far it has been less than fruitful. How did you successfully remove it? I've been trying applying heat from a hair dryer and using an old credit card, but so far I have only been able to get under ju...

Oh, there's still protection there, so the metal isn't directly touching the mobo, but it's much thinner than the original obviously. I'm not a complete moron. :) Seriously, the backplate is 100% impossible to remove, intact, from the mobo. The adhesive is so damn strong. It's just a terrible design...

Ninja backplate (original)
I have the original Scythe Ninja, and I'm having a bit of a problem with the backplate. It's kind of screwed up since I removed it from my previous mobo. The adhesive on the backplate was so strong it was a real battle to remove, and when I finally did, the rubber was all torn. I *have* since instal...

Rubber fan mounts
This is probably really stupid, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to install the rubber fan mounts for my nexus 120mm fan. I tried to install them at the rear of my P182 case. I can jam them into the screw holes at the back of the case, but when I try to mount the actual fan, there is no...

Enermax Modu82+ and GeForce 8800GTX question
I just bought a 8800GTX graphics card. I realized my Seasonic S12-430 PSU isn't going to do it. Power-wise it would I'm sure, but it doesn't have the necessary PCIe-connectors for the 8800GTX. I'm going to buy Enermax Modu82+. I'm just wondering if I should go with the 625W version, or should I get ...

Enermax Modu82+ and P182SE, long enough cables?
I'm thinking of getting this pair. Very simple question. Are the PSU cables long enough to tie behind the mobo for neat cable management?

I have the original 3007WFP (rev A0, or something like that), which I've hade for over 2 years now. I'm pretty big on silent computing, and my display does exhibit this same buzz you guys are talking about, but it's really not THAT noticable. The buzz is happening at the back of the display, and I c...

Bad Axe 2 vs P5W DH Deluxe in a music workstation
I've been looking at these 2 boards. Which board is more stable? I probably won't overclock, but the mobo should be as stable as possible. For the musically inclined, the ASIO performance should be rock solid with very small latency. The Intel board is €40 more, is it worth it? What are the major ...

P180, 4 drives, idle noise - rubber grommets vs. suspension
I have a very quiet P180 rig - except for the HDDs, which are loud as hell. I have 4 drives in the default HD bay, mounted by the P180 default rubber grommets, which are a big improvement on hard mounting already. Now, my enemy isn't really the seek noises, but rather the idle noise. How much of an ...

Passive PSU in a P180 w/ 4 HDDs?
I have the the lower HDD-bay loaded with 4 HDDs, and there's a 120mm nexus fan between the HDD bay and the PSU. Would it be a good idea to get a passive PSU for my P180, or would it run too hot, considering the fact that the lower compartment fan would be blowing warm air into the PSU?

Best way to silence 4 HDDs in Antec P180?
Can you guys give me some pointers as to how to effectively silence 4 internal 3.5" HDDs inside a P180? I've used the standard Antec HDD bay at the bottom of the case, but I doubt it's the most effective solution. I will probably need to suspend the drives somehow, but that will take a lot more space.

What's the Scythe Ninja of VGA coolers? Does it exist?
I'm looking for the beefiest VGA cooler in existence, in order to make it as quiet as possible. I might also do some overclocking. I'm hoping for something truly massive, but is Thermaltake V-1 Ultra the closest thing? Is it possible to use 120mm fans with it? Maybe with some modding? I love Zalman'...

My HDDs are burning
My case is Antec P180 and I have 4 HDDs in the lower HDD chamber, and according to SpeedFan their temps are from 54 to 59 (!) degrees celsius. I think I need to add a fan to keep the drives from melting or something. The question is, where am I going to place it? I'm not sure if there's room in the ...

Help me quiet down my new Antec P180 rig
This is my first post here, but I've been lurking for a while. This site has been very helpful to me. :) I just upgraded my case to Antec P180 from an older Antec model (SX1030B). The new rig is actually louder than the old one, and while this is somewhat disappointing, I was in a way anticipating i...
