Yes you want a video card with DVI-I output. This can be converted to VGA with the proper adapter (included with most video cards for the many years). I have configured a lot of these setups at work. Dual, VGA-only LCDs having to be run from video cards without dual VGA outputs. Ha! The work around ...

Looks decent from the (sarcasm) 2 whole pics you have shown us! (/sarcaasm) Just kidding around, but I would definitely like to see more pics. Like how you wired the back, perhaps some more of the HDD suspension. Hey why not one of the case in its natural habitat? I really do like the clea...

Very nice work! The result is a system that looks like it was well thought out and plenty of time was invested in it. It has a quality look to it. I really like the look of the grommets. They really clean the look up. I have done a build in the 3480 before and it is an excellent case, great choice. ...

Dude you have way too many 80mm fans running! You can remove the side 80mm fan cuz you sure have enough VGA cooling! :P I have nearly the exact same case, but an Antec design. I'll show some pics of how I modded it to fit a 120mm fan. Also I found a better way to mount the fans (those purple...

Yeah a "hot pocket" sounds about right. The system does not have an intake fan. Besides the 120mm fan in the PSU, the only exhaust is a 92mm fan at 1500rpm. I could add an 80mm intake fan but I would want to use a real quiet one and it can only be mounted in front of my HDD. That drive is located di...

Is this GFX card running too hot?
Hi everyone, My question is how hot is "too hot" for this video card running passively. The gfx card is an old MSI GF4 Ti4200, I removed the stock cooler and attached a small P3 heatsink. I used a drop of AS5 paste in the middle and four smaller drops of some sort of super glue to adhere the heatsin...

Modo, thank you very much! I figured out how to get Speedfan to do exactly what I wanted. I should also thank kimx since adding Speedfan to the startup folder got me started. Then, I configured the loud fan to only run at 10% when below 40*C and less than 55*C. This way my GPU fan (which was the iss...

Hi again, No the system is not the one in my sig. The problem here is the user who will be operating the machine from 9-5pm daily, will not be me. Thus they I will not expect them to open and operate speedfan. I have plenty of experience with speedfan on my own machine and I must manually bring down...

Thanks for the tip. bud. I forgot to add, I need to get Speedfan to load a "quiet fan profile" once ran. I could do this very easily with ATi Tool when I owned an ATI radeon X800XL. It worked like a charm, running at startup, then auto-loading the profile. I'm hoping Speedfan can do the same thing f...

Need Speedfan to Run at Startup
Hi everyone, I am attempting to quiet an office computer using Speedfan 4.34. It looks like I can lower the CPU and GPU fans using Speedfan just fine. The only thing is I want the computer to load these settings every time Windows loads up. Don't it manually every time will not suffice. Does anyone ...

Thanks for the extra info. I'm glad to hear you are undervolting your fans. haha noticed the pun after I wrote that. Indeed, older steel is very hard to "dremel- away." The wiring is much better after the second revisions were done to the case. Good job there. I don't mind the video card cooling set...

Good effort overall. Good call on the TR Si-97, I got one of those for $15 cdn a few months back. Im curious, are you undervolting any of those fans? I'm pretty sure I have that exact same 92mm zalman fan and 80mm Antec fan. At full speeds, those fans are like "drill - loud". There is no way foam ca...

I enjoyed reading most of your computer history and upgrade "story." Don't take this the wrong way please, but you seem to be from the "old school," I don't think that's bad at all. Very conservative with your systems, "stability and efficiency first" kind of thinking. You know what works and what d...

Thanks for the reply. She sure is a gorgeous case. Nice and big too so easy to work in I bet. I'd love one to replace my Antec beater but I'm not to eager to rebuild my aging machine. Hi, greetings from Canada! First, I really enjoyed reading your thread and seeing the progress in both noise and temperatures. Just a few things to comment on : 1 - I'm curious about the AC S2 and the initial idea to cool your 9600GT with the 120mm (modded to fit) in front of it in a 5.25" bay. That...

To be fair to Antec, they weren't going to create a 200mm fan that would please everyone. I'm sure some people will think its very quiet at medium speed, while others will say it is too loud on low. That's just how people are. Sadly, your in the latter grouping. To be brutally honest, I think your a...

Greetings! So this is a very outdated spec-wise machine. But it runs Puppy Linux very well.
