I put and Antec Led Tricool on my SI-120 and it works fine on medium. I hope to replace it with a quieter fan soon, but it works well enough for me. I can't comment on noise since I have no nesux for comparison

The theory was probably that once the drive switched orientation, gravity might pull on the drive head, putting it off track slighty. I doubt this would be a problem though with any modern drive.

How did you get the bottom drive cage off. I have a Xaser III (a 7 fan beast, which i've reduced to 5) and it seem like getting that bottom cage off would increase the airflow from the 2 intake fans.
