the room is pretty big. not for home theater use, its a general use/gaing PC placement would depend on the case but I have flexibility and ts isnt a motivating factor in the case choice. not much moving around, protability is minimal in and our of it...its pretty set right now so not for a while. pr...

oh, and I hooked it all up now that the YL is mounted on the S1. for normal computing (right now) I am running with just the exhaust and lower intake at 5volts and the Mugen on PWM control. very silent. I cant discern the PC noise fromt he ambient white noise of the room sitting in my desk chair. I ...

something I have thought about but it would be just as easy, actually easier, to drill 2 holes for a vertical suspension. both would require removing the mobo to protect it from scraps. Plus the drive bay has this funky little kickout that you can kind of see in this pic... http://www.nuclearfuzz.co...

I dont move my case around much so its fine. When I do I have a gear grip PC strap so I dont flip it around or anything. I pick it up by the handle and carry it in the same orientation it sits in. The cable management keeps it in place pretty well. The only real danger is if I tip the PC over and fo...

see this thread for discussions on my fans... http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=59298 I may not need them all...but thats why they are on the fan controller. airflow isnt the best in this case so occasionally I have to spin them up. The case fans arent the noise source anyway. It ...

Frys had the Antec VSK-2000 for $28 and I thought....let me see what I can do with a cheap, simple case. Here are my efforts so far.... I had to use this in double duty as my gaming box and my file server for a little bit. wasnt too concerned with noise, just needed drives ... http://www.nuclearfuzz...

Installed both and got some good results. Accelero S1 on 5830, passive - GPU idle is up, but not huge. from 47C to 54C. Still have to setup furmark to do load testing. Mugen 2, single stock fan - ran prime for an hour with following 100% load peak temps: peak temps under 100% load for 1 hour Core 0 ...

good point. I cant edit the poll now either way though :( how about Bios controller users just post it up and i will keep it in consideration. I just did it -- you should have been able to as well, as the original poster. I clicked edit on the original post and it didnt let me. Before anyone voted ...

I was lumping that in software control but didnt specify It's actually closer to hardware control imo because unlike the software control, it does not depend on proper operation of the OS. IE, it will keep working even if Windows has a major glitch. good point. I cant edit the poll now either way t...

coolermaster 212+ is a good CPU cooler for the money, get one. I have one and am pretty happy with it. Cheaper dvdrom is a good money saver. cheaper ram is good suggestion too. frys and mcirocenter do CPU/mobo combos that can stretch your dollar as well. I am a corsair PSU fanboy until I get one tha...

It's a shame you can't connect the onboard thermal probes to an external monitor. this is exactly my issue. I dont want to use thermal probes. I prefer the onboard sensors. I wish there was a programamble fan cotnroller that used the sensors. I would buy that. For now I am goign with a software sol...

because my fan controller fried the other day and I havent replaced it yet  . Plus I thought it would be nice to see the temp differences, if any, when I ramp down the case fans. I was suprised at the immediate 7-9C jump when I eliminated the 2 fans. My next step will be to turn them each on i...
