I'm very happy with my Neo2 Platinum but wouldn't recommend it because of a poor layout. The CPU socket is rotated 90° compared to most 939 boards and because of the proximity of the AGP slot, getting a big cooler in there is nigh on impossible, especially if your AGP card has anything mounted on it...

Thanks. After thinking about it, I've realised that the Ninja will not fit, due to my gfx cards heatsink. I've modded my Thermaltake Big T to move the cooling fins over to one side, moving it away from the gfx card. I'm hoping that the ram isn't in the way now. http://i.pbase.com/o4/77/610877/1/5617...

Have a look at the Claritas cases, made in the UK;

I'm pretty sure they ship worldwide.

The 9500 comes shipped with a fanmate 2, which means you can manually adjust the speed of the fan (you'll need to as well, because it's loud at anything over 70% speed). You can also mount it in any orientation, if space allows so it should be able to work with your case fan. Have you tried Speedfan...

I kinda have the feeling that WD temps are reported incorrectly. For example, my new build has a WD WDC WD1600JS-60MHB1 160GB sata as system drive (first 30GB) and a Maxtor 6Y120M0 120GB sata as storage. Currently, as reported by Speedfan, the WD is 52°C and the Maxtor is 35°C. Both are in the path ...

Well, I live in Fife, which technically is not the Highlands. Looking forward to a nice break in Portugal in a month or so............. I've now suspended the hard drives from some elastic and that has made a huge difference. I can't hear them at all now and strangely, temps have gone down a few °C...

Calling MSI K8N Neo2 owners..........
Due to upgrading my gfx card and the poor board layout, I've had to remove my Thermaltake Big Typhoon and fit a Zalman CNPS9500 in its place. I had hoped to fit the Zalman so it would blow out the back of the case but it doesn't fit that way due to lack of clearance caused by the gfx cards heatsink ...

I agree that the LC13 looks beter, but it's a pain to live with. I used to have one, and tried everything to silence it - 60-80mm adapters at the rear (only one will fit), cutting holes in the floor to fit a 120mm fan, lining it with acoustipack foam (this just made it hotter). In the end I gave up ...

Weldinghear t: Tagan 480W TG480-U01 PSU. The Gigabyte fans are very quiet - they spin at under 1000rpm after all. The only reason I have the Akasa fitted is because I removed the TT/Yate Loon fan for my media server a few months ago, which needs to be silent. The Akasa was all I had lying around. I...

Gigabyte 3D Aurora 'silent' build
Well, I only put it together last week after doing away with my Thermaltake Xaser III/A7N8X/Athlon XP3200 Barton combo which has served me well over the last 2 years. CPU temps in that were impressive, @ 29°C Diode/30°c Socket at idle 40-44°c under stress, with a Thermaltake Volcano turned all the w...

Cheers! Appreciate the kind remarks!! Let me guess, most of the remaining noise is from the hard drives? Well, not really. There's still a slight "whish" from the fans even though the fanmates are turned right down. If it really starts getting to me, then I'll do a bit of shopping around for some qu...

Nice to see a fellow LC17 owner doing a few mods. I now run an LC17, but had an LC13 before that. I modded that to fit some 120mm fans, but it was still a pile of Sh*t! Far too loud. My LC17 is very quiet, but I wouldn't say totally silent - but watching everyday TV it doesn't distract by being noti...
