Hi, Thanks! I actually installed a Zalman fan bracket and 80mm fan blowing directly over the HS yesterday. It seems fine so far. Unfortunately their PC is pretty loud anyway, so I just keft it running at 12v. Should see them through to a replacement due in a year or so hopefully, and this time it wi...

Just put a quiet 80mm fan blowing at it one way or another. It'll be fine. If not, you'll quickly see it on the screen, long before any damage of any kind. Thanks, So you think a quiet fan on a bracket would be the way to go? I'd rather use some form of cooling and see how it goes than nothing at a...

Yeah, I read that in a search.

How do I know if it is coping ok though, as there is no way to measure temp of the card. ATi tool does not show temp for this.

Help cooling Hercules 9000Pro

HI, My parents PC has been making some nasty noises for a while, and I finally got round to having a look! Apart from the dust, and horrible cabling it is the fan on the Hercules Radeon 9000pro that is making all the noise. There is clearly something badly wrong with it. I am having trouble finding ...

Ideally I want to try and cut them out without having to take everything out of the case again, as it takes me hours to do, and never sure if I'm going to break anything! If worse comes to worse I have many many holesaws! It was what I thought before hacking the grills, but it certainly not safe for...

You should start first by removing the dust fron the cpu heatsink.....or replace the thing. It's easy really. Flip the two levers over and the four catches come loose from the retention bracket. That CPU fan will quiet down a bunch blowing on a dust-free heatsink. You've got one of the hottest cpus...

Yeah tell me about it! When I first read 230+ at about 12:30 last night after a few beers it took me a while to realise it oculdn't actually be that high. Weird that its so consistent, and that reading doesnt appear on any of the sensors in MBM though... Just ordered a couple of fans, a 120mm nexus,...

Welding heart, I have roughly cut out both the front and back useless fan grilles. I did wonder about fitting a 120mm fan in the front, and now I think I'll have a go. What did you use to cut the front and bottom rear hole out? Jaganath, it is MUCH quieter now. The only thing I can really hear a whi...

So....Anyway here it is. The rear fan isn't connected, as I got the wrong adaptor. Back to sort that out tomorrow, and time to start looking for a couple of quieter case fans now. Also going to attach the PSU fan monitor at the same time. Wiring is as neat as I could get it. I'm meant to be an elect...

WOW, ignore everything in this post. It FITS! I was just being too careful, and as soon as I couldnt clip the freezer 4 in gave up. However careful inspection shows it clears the NB HS, it's just the clips take a LOT of force to do up! So hopefully I havent broken anything, as I had the whole mother...

Sorry can't help you with that one, but most people would want the fan blowing to the back ...

Northbridge HS fouling Arctic cooling freezer 4-HELP NEEDED!

Ok I made a post in system advice, and got some very helpful answers. Unfortunately I have just started putting everything together, and the Northbridge HS is stopping me from fitting the freezer 4 correctly. I literally have the pc in pieces on my kitchen table with no idea what to do. What would p...

I'm afraid I have no further idea about what is going on with this. I couldn't see a fan either, I'm not at all knowledgable about this, but assume the HS with MSI on it is the one in question. I have looked at the online manual for the MBoard and it doesnt really clear up what this connection could...

I've found an option for this fan controller which looks ok I'm a bit less keen; one problem with some multiple fan controllers is that they have a very narrow voltage range (ie 8-12V or similar) which may or may not allow you to get your fans suitably quiet, or sometimes they only have set voltage...

Ah ok! Glad I asked! Yeah maybe the 330w PSU would be better for my needs, as I am not really planning on expanding much. Except for maybe adding another HDD at some point. If you think this will power my system no problems, then maybe I'll go for that and get the sunbeam from the site you recommend...

Hi, Yeah I did wonder about those fans, that's why I ask so many questions! I've found an option for this fan controller which looks ok to me (?) from overclockers again, as it means I save on postage (near the top end of what I'm hoping to spend now! Comes to about £95 delivered for the PSU, CPU H...

Ok, well I'm looking at the Seasonic PSU and it seems to be about £60. This is within budget, but is there any alternatives I should be looking at. For now I think the CPU heatsink is a bit beyond me, and most of the noise seems to be from the PSU and front fan. So I'm going to have a go at changin...

Ok, what do I need to watch out for? Just keep everything but the nozzle away? Pretty much; ideally the nozzle shouldn't touch anything either, but you might need to press it up against the CPU fan to get enough suction. You must avoid all metal-on-metal contact between the vacuum's metal tubing an...

Hi,

Yeah it did look quite dusty. I left it well alone for now, as I didn't know the best way to clean it, and also assumed I may be changing it out in the immediate future!

What is the best way to clean this?

Thanks
