From everything I've seen, the Antec Phantom 500 is the most efficient for a high end system (such as my SLI dual core X2 I don't know the efficiency curve of the Phantom 500, but I suspect the FSP Epsilon range of power supplies are in the same ballpark: FSP Epsilon 600/700/800W They have an 800W ...

From the first link: The very high rotational speeds of turbine engine shafts (>10000 rpm) allow the replacement of oil with air. At these speeds, foil air bearings maintain the air film between moving parts by actually pumping air between the rotating and stationary surfaces. Now try and guess why...

Air foil bearings

When do you think we'll see DC axial fans (for PC use) with air foil bearings? Advantages: Zero bearing noise at operating speed Effectively unlimited bearing life? [negligible] increase in efficiency over ball/sleeve bearing Disadvantages: COST Less space-efficient - requires longer bearing axis an...

Looks like a great way to mod a PSU for better cooling and lower noise. Too bad fans larger than 120mm aren't readily available.

Good question. I was about to ask something similar. Anyone have any thoughts on these products before I buy all of them in pain? At least one person here has commented that the asphalt stuff is nice insofar as it is heavy and helps weigh down cases, but can be smelly. The vinyl stuff is supposedly...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that fan will blow air onto the back of the card, not through the Ninja.

IIRC, without hard mounting, the heat-sinking effect is lost and the temps go up.

For especially long audio/RCA's you want high-end cables, lower ohms, resistance as well as better shielding. RCA connectors are used on cables whose impedance is 75 ohms. You should not use cables with impedances that significantly differ from the standard. Resistance doesn't really matter, but good...
