just out of interest what you planning on doing with this computer? if your planning on gaming, and just using the big monitor, why buy such powerful card for 2/3 monitors? seems like a waste and an easy way to increase heat? also i belive 2560x1600 is only avaliable when running 'dual link' with dv...

one thing i can safely say, i've never missed VT and to be honest, even with the e6600 chip, when switching between using the VT and not i saw no difference with virtual pc's, (only tried it with vmware) That is an interesting observation. Most articles that I have read almost demand the use of har...

for what its worth, my e7200 at stock runs at 1.05 volts (my mobo won't let me change the voltage) at 3ghz it runs at 1.11v (again can't change voltage) also when using 45nm chips all the voltages on my motherboard run lower, was looking thru the bios the other day and on average voltages are .1v lo...

my humble opinon on the OCZ StealthXstream 400w(warning 56!)
I caved in and bougt the 400w version purely because it was £30!! was going to get the 500 but i've been running this machine for the last 3 years on a 380w antec neo he so figured it should be fine, afterall, i don't consider OCZ to be a bottom of the range brand. so far i'm more than impressed, m...

i'm currently running a antec neo he 380, i'm tempted to try one of these ocz ones, turn all the fans off, and and the most annoying noise overeverything seems to be the powersupply, the large fan and properosed silence is what is tempting me! the 80mm of the antec i'm sure is too loud when it has t...

The best stuff to dampen the sound would be the thick 'eggbox' stuff. Although I would be tempted to combine that with the first link- the bitumen pads. Also Maplin are doing a couple of kits of sound absorbing stuff: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?menuno=12130 Hope this helps. Phil cheers! lo...

we recently had a g31 board with 6 sata ports and a e5200 in work, well under 100 watts idle, i think it was under 100watts load too, can't remeber the figures off hand, but we were shocked how little power it used, and we were running it with a 4770 card guessing that with a e1000 series core 2 chi...

Re: Solo airflow (heat) question
Try putting the fan closer to the video card. I've suspended a 92mm fan between the two top rear elastic suspension chords with the hard drive in the bottom chords. i've got a passive gigabyte 4850 in my antec solo, and this case is not designed for cooling video cards i've noticed! i've put a 1700...
