Why not try putting some filtering material over the top intake and just leave it open without a fan? You should definitely be able to find them somewhere. Most SLI motherboards come with slot covers just like that that have a support screwed to it to support the bridge.

Unfortunately, while I can confirm that they exist, I have no idea where you'd find them.

Maybe a cardboard partition to make sure most of the air *does* go through the Ninja would help.
