According to Xbitlabs the 7600GS has about the same power draw as a 6600 (27.4W max vs 27.6W), and outperforms it by a factor somewhere between 1.5 and 2, so it might be worth the higher price.

Also, in a typical ATX case with a low front intake and a top read exhaust some of the air pulled in by the front fan will simply go straight through and out the back if given the chance (open slot covers). At least they do in my case, identic Papst 120mm fans at same voltage as intake and exhaust +...

To be fair to the first-past-the-post system, the UK has 3 major parties and a number of smaller ones, even if the parliament seats are pretty unevenly distributed (Labour 352, Tories 196, Lib. Dem 63, the rest 35). I still prefer the Swedish way though, it also negates any effect of gerrymandering.

Eventually ID-required voting will be the norm. The courts are gradually throwing the anti-ID cases out. It's only logical..if you have to show ID to register to vote, why wouldn't you be able to produce that same ID when it comes time to actually vote. This was my beef with that case, since I was ...

Yeah, we have a proportional system for our elections (except in cases of a referendum with yes/no, of course), where all votes are counted and seats distributed accordingly. In your example, the two leftists would probably join together to govern, although it gets quite ridiculous with such low num...

In Sweden we only use paper ballots, one for each party/alternative, that are put in an envelope where only the colour (which signifies which election it is for) can be seen. This could probably get out-of-hand if you have more than 15 or so choices for a particular election. These are then put in a...

Some things are said between the lines. As for the market price? I don't think the price really reacts to market without the approval of OPEC, if they wanted, they could say it's running out and still name whatever price they wanted. Yeah, they could say that and within two weeks the EU and US woul...

Eating healthy.....maybe the hardest to do. I am diabetic now, so was my father. Keep your weight down, and avoid sweet things at all cost. You can find/make things with sugar substitutes. Do it... Fat stuff is out, lower your red meat input, and don't snack between meals. Almost all snack foods ar...

Actually, DDR2-667 will be 5:4, considering that that standard FSB is 266MHz, quadpumped to 1066. DDR2-800 will be 3:2. DDR2-533 will be 1:1, which means it should give lower latencies (good) but also lower throughput (bad). In most benchmarks DDR2-800 outperforms the others (even without overclocki...

Look at this review (link at Noctua site): http://www.au-ja.de/review-noctuanfs12-4.phtml http://www.au-ja.de/review-noctuanfs12-5.phtml As you can see, Scythe@1200rpm is quieter than Noctua@1288RPM and at the same time Scythe gives lower temperatures. Yeah, I might try suspending the whole drive cage, as some here have done (or place it on some kind of foam). Otherwise it feels like the lower 5.25" bays do get some some air drawn in through them, so if I move the ODDs up to the top the HDDs should be ok in the lower bays.

Well, perhaps "new" is stretching it but for my AthlonXP 2500+ on a DFI Lanparty NF2 I installed the original heatsink (AC Copper Silent 2 TC) while in the case, since it clips on. Recently, I swapped it for a Zalman 7000, and since that meant four screws through the motherboard I didn't really have...

Uhm, DVD tops out at around 10Mbit, and that is using MPEG2 which takes a lot of space = bandwidth over MPEG4 (DivX/Xvid). So 100Mbit is plenty fast for several streams of standard resolution (DVD-quality or less), although admittedly HD will strain that, but how many people have support for full 10...

Going SLI on 7600 series cards is pointless, for around twice the price you get a 7900GS that will crush the SLI setup in performance. SLI, at best, gives an 80% performance boost, and already the 7600GT is about 50% ahead of the GS.

There are a few, mostly in the woods along the Swedish border. They got in the news quite a bit a couple of years ago because (some?) Norwegians were hunting them, which I don't think Sweden liked because we're trying to increase the number.

It simply means that using internal drives are preferrable to external ones, since that will allow a higher speed. Don't be worried about the minimum speed, all current drives stay well over 20MB/s AFAIK. The enclosure linked earlier mentioned one of those chipsets, so that should be ok. The HD400LD...
