Why did I not think of this earlier: To find out if the cause is indeed ultrasound, and if the problem is with hearing it, this could be simply tested by having earplugs on and seeing if the symptoms still come when having a powered cell phone near you! If this would be the case, then I'd recommend...

As for the school/teacher story, I've read/heard about them before. (There is a school in Vancouver where the parents voted successfully not to have wifi LAN installed to reduce RF exposure to their kids.) But the radiation levels described in that story seems substantially higher than the amounts ...

Trying to find out specifically what's causing the problem might not be that useful or necessary for you. The more one thinks about it the more complex the procedure for the testing is revealed to be; and if the culprit is ultrasound, how do you shield it? I think you should just accept the problem...

Hey, I actually have a USB ball mouse in my basement (or it was there). So they do exist, but I guess, very rare. Cool! -I read above about covering your mouse with aluminum foil, if that works externally, why not open your mouse and cover it internally? I might try that down the road if I have the...

Please consider that maybe we do "get it," but that there may not be standard answers that apply here. (Or at least the people in this forum may not have the standard answers.) scdr, I appreciate what you are saying. By "get it" I meant that people were doing two things: not trying to answer my ini...

A hard drive in a 1996 Camry V6? I don't recall that in my Camry V6 of the same generation. Did you unplug the ECU (engine control unit)? I unplugged the drive located under the armrest. It still allowed me to drive the car, but I believe the airbags were de-activated and possibly more. What ever i...

NoiseFreeGuy -- ...It would be really worthwhile, therefore, to do double-blind experiments with different kinds of electronic devices -- to try to ascertain what type of devices cause your reaction. I wouldn't mind doing these tests if they were easy to set up and administer. But you say the tests...

I keep trying to give you folks some idea of just how sensitive an individual I am but you just don't get it. Let me try one more time. (No more tests please!) The year was fall 1995 and I had just purchased my 1996 Toyota Camry V6. Took it home and while driving back from the dealer something just ...

Re: Cellphones...
I might do tests in the future. Right now I simply would like to know what it is I'm feeling. Is it EMF's, UHF's, light waves, radio waves, heat waves, etc. etc.? You need to do the double blind tests to answer those very questions. Are you just trolling, or what? I'm not trolling so I guess my ans...

It's funny, though a few have replied to this thread, no one has answered my initial question. Many have suggested doing tests, but that wasn't what I was asking about. Here is a quote from another individual who knows what I am talking about: "I can easily feel the effects of the radiation inside m...

NoiseFreeGuy: Every time you go to work or to the mall or to any gathering of people, there will be many cellphones all around you. Do you react to them? No I don't. The cellphone must be very close to me for me to feel it. Over the years I have occasionally used a friend's or relative's cellphone....

Maybe it was stress (from trying to read tiny screen, dealing with menus, trying to understand the manual, or dealing with a cell phone company). Good one. :) I would do as Victonik suggested - try some tests (with somebody else controlling if phone is on or off, and you just recording when ...

Some people here will be familiar with my thread on a "Non-optical USB mouse". I was looking for a Non-optical USB mouse as I was feeling sensations in my temples from the optical mice that I tried. I thought the sensations were due to EMF's but others pointed out that it was impossible to feel them...

Does your current mouse cause the problem for you? No, it's fine. Also my desktop mouse is fine (ball, Microsoft Wheel mouse 3.0 PS/2). I just started this thread to see if there was a USB ball mouse. I'm using a PS/2 to USB adapter (for my netbook) that's fairly bulky and would like to cut out the...

What mouse are you using? Good question. I'm using an el-cheapo PS/2 Blaze mini mouse (ball) that I picked up for a few bucks at a surplus store. It's not the quietest in terms of clicking noise, but at least it's a ball mouse. Just to fill in a few more blanks about my noise sensitivity. There are...

Socket 479 MB's
Are there any Socket 479 MB's being sold now that take Pentium-M CPU's?
I see a bunch of 479's that take Intel Core Duo Mobile etc. etc. but I haven't seen P-M.
Will these MB's accept P-M's, does anyone know?
TIA

To original poster: Sounds that are too high frequency to hear can sometimes still be felt as pain. For example, many CRT TV sets emitted a very high frequency whine, including my grandmothers. She could not hear it, but me and my gf actually felt pain from the noise when we visited her, even thoug...

...Common sense tells me that mouse EMF is negligeble. But my experience states that often time mouse is the source/reason for high-pitched sound. Be in MX518 whine or soundcard/speaker feedback on mouse movement. Could ultrasound in your setup be the problem? Do you have same sensetion behind othe...

That Kensington trackball has mechanical sensors in it like a mouse - or at least the original design until a few years ago did. There might be an optical sensor, but it would be no different than a typical mouse with a ball in it.(low voltage light beam through a tiny wheel with slots in it vs a h...

I've never heard of one. OK thanks. But you're not having a reaction to your mouse. If you were, then you'd be having much stronger reactions to everyday objects like lamps, the sun, radioactive elements in soil/rocks, the air, raccoons, etc. which emit more of pretty much everything that you claim...

Let me put this in perspective. I don't really care if it is EMF's, radio frequencies, IR frequencies, X-rays, or any other type of emission that we are talking about. I can feel the emissions from basic power adapters. And they bug me big time. The power adapter that came with my HP all-in-one prin...

Rather than second guess what someone else means, I will wait until he speaks for himself and then reply to him.Mr Evil wrote: He probably means that although there are a large number of people claiming to suffer from electrosensitivity, double-blind tests show every time that it's purely psychological.

Optical sensors, by definition do not have anything to do with electromagnetic forces. Wireless mice use radio frequencies, which are quite different from electromagnetic forces. A wired optical tracking mouse would seem to be the solution to totally avoid EMF. Thanks Neil for this info. Whatever f...
