Would an AC Freezer 64 Pro cool an opteron 148?

Planed on using this heat sink on an opteron 148 with a possible over clock on it as well.

Was wondering if anyone had used the cooler?

Scythe Ninja is not bulky, and does allow better cooling even at stock speeds. The Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 has had good reviews on other sites(not sure how quiet the fan on it is). If you plan to softmount fans have look at these. http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11115&highlight=...

jojo4u thanks, however. that info is for windows users, and this drive will be used under linux.

I have tried setting specs under hdparm which have not worked at all.

This leads me to believe the drive is faulty..

Thanks again.

Most 120mm I have seen are running with a 4pin adapter.

It's good to know the yateloon fans can run off the 3pin header.

Thanks again.

YateLoon D12SL-12 OrangeQuestion.

Has anyone successfully powered this fan from the 3pin motherboard header? or Do you need to run this fan off a 3pin to pin adapter?

Thanks.

I have a chance to get ahold of an AMD X2-3800+ though the original build was based on a 3000+. is it worth using in a quiet based system. also what are the benifits of x2 other than multi-tasking as this machine is not for gaming. SSovets that board your using can use the 12+ or 5+ the cpu your using being socket A should draw its juice from the 5+ the only reason i said to get a psu with enough amps on the 5+, and 12+ is to give the best chance at it working. however if memory serves right that agp card also draws from the 5...

You will need to find one with a balace of amps on the +5, and the +12. you can't base your psu on the +5 alone. please have a look at this Recommended Power Supplies

For all you in the US make sure you check your PSU Voltage Switch make sure it's set for 115 not 230. I received a silverstone PSU with the red switch set for 230 had to set it right.
