I agree that maybe the stock coolers are OK for the moment. Would you recomend the Scythe Miné? Is it AM2 compatible? The Ninja seems to be the best cooler out at the moment, does the Miné lose much on the Ninja for cooling?

Thanks. 3 to 5 months is a very long time, and I was looking to get hold of an AM2 heatsink in the next few weeks. Are there any suggestions for a good AM2 CPU cooler? I have seen good reviews on the Thermaltake Big Typhoon, is it compatible with AM2?

Help with RAM!!

Hey can you help me out with the RAM compatibility for the A8N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard. I have been told that with the Chip Density: 128x4 (High Density), it will not be compatible with my computer. If anyone has any links for cheap (preferably ebay) RAM, then it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi, I recently posted asking about the new system that I am looking to build. Using your help and ideas on my components, I think I have finally come to what is the best build for my computing needs. I have a budget of up to £1300 pounds, and I am looking for a mid to high end gaming / VFX PC. It i...

I think thermaltake cases are very cool, but only in the UK (as of the expodential price in the USA). I am buying the Eclipse DV, as they seem to be the leading cases manufacturers when you are looking for the wow factor. I do not agree with their cooling systems. They have not made a good CPU coole...

Hiper Type-R

I believe that the Hiper Type-R is deeply under rated on this site, and people here do not realise for 580W, the fan runs at 17db to 21db.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hey,

Buy the Eclipse DV from Thermaltake - if you are in the Uk

For the PSU, the Hiper Type-R is really powerful and apart from what people on here say, it is ultra quiet. 17db to 21db!

I dont think I ever mentioned using RAID 0, I was not going to use RAID at all. It would be a smaller boot drive, then a larger (massive) HD for *cough*legal*cough* movies, videos (you get the idea :) )

For the budget, I am not looking to spend over £1350 ($2500). I do not need a monitor or peripherals so this is just for the base computer...

As for buying options in different countries, I can buy from Hong Kong, England and the USA very easily.

Thanks for the replies

I am in the process of buying a complete new system (building from scratch) and would like to purchase either the AMD Athlon 64 X2 +4400 or +4800.
