Well, the stock intel cooler will work fine for cooling alone... The reason for large heatsinks is so we can run silent fans at low RPM for very quiet systems. With the mini-ninja, I can run the CPU fan at 900RPM, which is basically inaudible. I don't know if the Big Shuriken will fit either. One th...

Re: Update from my build
Just wanted to post an update, now I have finished That's all from me for now, then. As said, if anyone wants any pics or more info, let me know. The machine sounds awesome. I'd be interested in pics if you have some handy. I'd like to see how all that fit in the case. :) I'm trying to find the fil...

Re: update2 - EG45M-UD2H Q9550 v351 now with silent cell 980
@JoeTheZombie - Nice build dude. I am considering that motherboard and was wondering if you could tell me if it allow under volting in the BIOS? I have an e5200 that runs stable @ 0.9750 V even though the stock VID is 1.2875 V. Under volting it drops the temps by about 20 C. Please let me know and ...

Well, I hope you "broke-in" that Orochi before installing the motherboard, like this . OT... very nice build! Myself, I have found a few low RPM fans + AcoustiPack is sufficient for a, shall we call it, less than audible experience? :D The funny thing is, I never noticed my LCD whine until a...

I'm running Win7 x64. I have the GPU and SMP (MPICH) versions running simultaneously with no concerns. FAHmon is estimating 1464.21PPD on the SMP (2.8 Q9550) after 8% completed [P2665(R1, C976, G141)]. Keep in mind I use this machine for low-processor intensive productivity work as well. übermaschi...

Ok.... latest update. I haven't had time to research 120mm, so I'm still using the stock intakes. I did put them on series so at 6V they are now much, much quieter. I also took the original 80mm exhaust fan and am running it at 5V attached to the silent cell. It is inaudible, but pushes just enough ...

No, no, no! Not sad! Brave, determined, persevering -- that's what it is!. Yeah... I like the sound of that :) Right now, only the broken d600 is folding. Just installed the HD 4650 into the p4ht, but it won't boot up from keydrive, and it has no dvd drive so i'm still trying to figure out how to g...

my sad little (but silent!) folding farm.
Huya gents! Just a little intro to my silent folding farm! First off, the 9550 + 9800GT silent cell is currently offline so my meat and potatoes isn't working. I am expecting over 6000ppd on that machine once I stop dickin' around with hackintosh fun-ness! The P4HT @ 2.8 is simmering on a linux keyd...

Hey Freezebyte! I've got your back down here in Idaho! And yes, it is getting colder. Snow today! I'm thinking about piping in some of that cold outside air into my PC case for silent cooling. I can imagine a couple of 2" PVC sections. One entering the case from outside, and another exhausting with ...

Silent cell doesn't run as cool as I thought it would. Under 100% folding load, I hit an overall high of 79C. I thought the 120mm being right next to the card it would cool a bit better. Then again, I don't know the normal operating temperature of this card, so maybe this is normal? Time to search t...

Re: Quick question on bezel
Hi Joe! One question on the bezel. Did you use bezel with Part # C-02B, i.e. Lian Li's "Universal Black Bezel"? I'm also thinking of installing dust filters though – at least on the two 120 mm fans. Will you be using filters in your new fans? Yes, that is the C-02B Black Bezel. When cutting it do...

Why did you install a 92mm exhaust fan if you want a positive pressure in the case. Wouldn't an 80mm fan blow out less air, resulting in a higher pressure inside the case? Maybe I wasn't being clear. I do not want positive pressure in the case. I was saying as we try to silence, we can not have lou...

I'm planning on replacing them with two Noctua NF-P12 fans. Since they are "free", though, I'm thinking - maybe it's better to install two Noctua NF-S12 fans. They have more airflow and are quieter, but have less static pressure. Does this seem like a good idea, or should I go with two NF-P12 fans ...

I have this case with a Ninja Mini installed. You can install the heatsink out of the case on the motherboard tray and slide in, just barely. I'm using Q9550. I put a 92mm fan on the cooler so I can run at a lower RPM for more quiet-ness. You can actually fit a slightly larger cooler like Noctua NH-...

Tinnitus almost crippled me. Laying at home, at night, with complete silence would bring a slight ringing in my right ear. Slowly, but surely, the ringing would increase to the point of severe physical pain. Luckily, any ambient noise would immediately silence the Tinnitus. Music at a low level help...

update2 - EG45M-UD2H Q9550 v351 now with silent cell 9800gt
still working on my v351 build with on a EG45M-UD2H and a Q9550. With stock heatsink and fans, I was seeing core temps of around 76C running Prime95 and the system was loud. I replaced the stock heatsink with a Minja + 92mm Nexus DF1209SL-3PWM. I positioned the Nexus at the rear of the Minja, pullin...

How do I know if it will fit?
I'm ordering up a GA-EG45M-UD2H with a Q9550 to go in a LIAN LI PC-V351B case. I don't have the parts, so I'm not sure how to tell if any given heatsink will fit. I was going to go with a mini ninja... I think that would work, but if I can fit a better unit on the processor, I'd go that route. A lit...

4-pin CPU fan, and also GA-PA35 compatibility
I have a ninja mini I have acquired without a fan. I want to use the cooler on a quad-core processor and a gigabytye GA-PA35-DS3L motherboard.
First off, are there any compatibility issues with this motherboard?
Secondly, I need a 4-pin fan to attach to the ninja mini.
Thanks,
Joe
