adata xpg sx8200 480GB $76 - 960GB $155.20 today only.

Most of the cyber Monday deals out there are vendors trying to push their old stock out the door. This is one of the few really good deals I found on current cutting edge tech. Make sure to use the CYBER20 code for an extra 20% off. Ordered a 960GB myself already.

Re: Newest HTPC/Gaming build

By 10 GB port I do mean the USB 3.1 Gen 2. Those Seagate 4 TB drives are good, he already has a couple of them. I was just wondering if there's something faster, but still economical from a price per TB standard? If by white Gskill you mean the RAM in the newegg link I posted, yes, it is on the QVL ...

Re: Newest HTPC/Gaming build

That Samsung 1 TB is impressive, that's a lot of money for one terabyte though. Any good 4 TB drives out there that use the 10 GB port. I will try the enhanced Turbo mode. Is there another variant that could be even better for games that will only use one core? How can you tell if RAM is Samsung B-d...

I had not thought of the specter/meltdown issue. Yes, a good reason to go with the 9th gen chip. My current build has a Scythe Mugen5 in it. I did not know it was compatible with these motherboards. I will definitely go with that. Switched the build to a 390 motherboard. Is there better choice on ne...

Re: PC Build For Music Production

I have game settings fairly low, but play just fine at 4k. BIG caveat to make that work is I am running windows 7 (and will continue to do so until MS makes it stop working), windows 10 slows things down a LOT. Yes, fans do not come on unless temps reach a pre-defined point. ATM I have Path of Exile...

These cards are hitting the shelves before long. It will be really interesting to see which ones are quietest. Zotac has a good rep in this department. I will be watching them for sure. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500435&utm_medium=BehEmail&utm_source=EMCCP-082018-RTX&c...

Re: PC Build For Music Production

Good video card. I have the same one. Even gaming at 4K resolution the fans only come on in the heaviest of loads. I run 2 games at once just get the fans to kick up to make sure they're actually working. That case maybe good. I don't know. But I swear by my Fractal Design R5. Trick I discovered tha...

Re: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 P2 buzzing at random times

I know it's not the PSU directly, but some combination problem. My brother has the same PSU and had no problems with it. It just does not get along with something else and the end result is it's making the PSU buzz (and I am sure the buzz is from the PSU). I've thought about trying that Seasonic, bu...

EVGA SuperNOVA 650 P2 buzzing at random times

I had posted this as a reply to an old thread about PS buzz, but I think it may have gotten lost. About the same problem here with an EVGA SuperNOVA 650 P2 except the buzzing occurs at pretty much any random time, not just gaming. System is plugged in to a UPS. It can go hours and be silent, then it...

Re: New Silent High End Gaming Build (7700k/1080ti) - Help P

Even if you don't put a fan at the top, just removing the top center panel and letting it be a vent cools my system nicely. With some tweaking of the fan settings NONE of them run at all unless I am gaming. Even then they are barely audible (and I am a VERY picky/noise sensitive person!)

256GB SSD space is working for me, it's only about 60% full after a couple years of use, and I already have it, so... Speaking of, is there a difference in M2 vs SATA worth knowing about yet? That could be a future upgrade. Running digital audio, so audio codec is a moot point. Part of the reason I ...

anything in the near future worth waiting on for a new PC?

Building yet another gaming PC. Looking for MB, CPU, heatsink, RAM, & PS recommendations, can put up to $1000 into these. I already have an 850 pro SSD and Zotac GXT 1070 GPU to put in it and planning on a Fractal R5 case. I have some time with this one and am wondering what's out there now & good t...

I also had problems with an EVGA 1070 FTW made in China. The fan chattered at 30ish% speeds and the HDMI plug did not connect without wiggling the cord (tried 2 cords that both worked fine previously). Newegg was helpful as always, quickly cross shipped a replacement which is working just fine, even...

Also, I am getting no output to the monitor at all. I have not installed the GPU yet, I have tried both the HDMI and DVI on the MB. Could this be a CPU problem? How to tell if so? The CPU light on the MB is not on is the only indication one way or the other.

So, most of the parts are here and I have run in to an assembly question. With the R5 case the PSU is at the bottom and can be mounted fan up, pulling air from in the case, or fan down, pulling air from outside. Other sites suggest fan down, unless the case in going to be put on a carpet, the fan up...

I am keeping my signature build, this is a build for someone else.

I will show that selection of GPU's to them & see what they think.

The reviews on Newegg are the bad ones I saw on that mobo, I'll look at the Amazon ones now too though.

I have no plans of overclocking.

thanks for the help!
