Nice system, and all the systems on your site are great as well. Those WiNDy cases are a work of art, just beautiful. Wish I could afford to buy and import one. :) Windy is scheduled to start shipping and selling worldwide in July (per and article that I read about 6 months ago and also posted on t...

Next up...Mod of The Year at bit-tech.net starting next week. Come watch the great mod Cygnus X1 hand everybody's ass back to them. It will be epic. I watched that build for months. There is no doubt that it is one of the best that I've ever seen. As for the one in this OP, it's absolutely stunning...

I have a Seasonic S12 550W model that has a high pitched whine when under low load. Doesn't happen with the Q6600 that I'm running now, but when I had an E6300 on it, drove me crazy. I went to Radio Shack and bought 3 power resistors. Wired them in series and plugged them into a 12V molex connector....

Is this the drive (it seems it is)?
$49.99 + shipping is not bad for a new single platter drive...even though it's 16MB cache and 5400 rpm.

already available in Singapore. They say Jan-Feb for Europe and North America. I can't wait. I just bought a mATX but I'm willing to sell it and get an ITX (or DXT) with PCIe X16 to build an ultra small (and hopefully quiet) HTPC. I've read that entire thread at VR-Zone (over 100 pages) since you g...

S12+ 550 model here. It's whine was driving me crazy. I noticed it less when I was running CPU intensive applications so I turned off the power saving features of the Core 2 Duo chip and it lowered. I finally went to Radio Shack, bought 3 10W power resistors, soldered them in series to a Molex plug ...

I have the 550W Seasonic S12+ unit and it exhibited an electrical buzz at low power consumption. I eliminated it by adding three 10 ohm power resistors tied together in series (30 ohms good for 30 watts dissipation) to the 12volt lines (attached to a Molex connector). I placed it outside the case to...

Hello, It sounds like anybody who can't put a significant load on the 700watt unit, should buy one of the smaller models instead? 700watts is more than twice as much capacity as most people need, fer cryin' out loud! My unit is 550W and I got it for $117 shipped (well below normal prices of ...

Have you tried placing a larger load (perhaps a full CPU and video test) on the supply to see if it goes lower or disappears? My S12 Energy Plus 550 had a buzz and I placed a 30 ohm (30W rated resistor chain running at about 4.8W) load onto it and the buzz was eliminated completely. The resistor cha...

Mike, Just a quick observation on unplugging the drive to see if the power supply is the problem. A few power supplies actually develope a whine under "Low load conditions". The Season S12 Energy Plus 550 is like this. I had to actually add load to eliminate the whine/buzz. Just be careful in unplug...

Based on SPCR's review and my own personal experience, I would stay away from the S12 Energy Plus models. Mine has a high pitched whine/buzz until I load it up. I finally had to add a resistor circuit to the 12 volt rails to quieten it down. Now of course it burns more power than it really needs, bu...

Update: After the PC sat overnight and the house cooled, the noise returned, but at a lower level. Any PC benchmark (loading up the CPU) cured the problem. I finally tired of hearing the noise so I went to Radio Shack and purchased two 10-Ohm wirewound 10 watt resistors. I soldered them series and t...

It's ironic that with the Energy+ you actually have to make your rig less efficient to reduce noise; normally it's the other way round. :? So true. However, I will say this. The air exiting out of the rear of this power supply is barely warm compared to nearly "HOT" air coming from an Antec NeoPowe...

I just bought the 550W S12 Energy plus model and it made a whine/buzzing sound. I had read that if the power is too low on certain rails of the supply, it would whine/buzz. I turned power management off ("Minimal Power Management") and the buzz/while instantly disappeared. I had the same whine in th...

I bought one for $15.00 after rebates with FREE shipping. It does seem cheap and definitely isn't an Antec, but for the price, it wasn't bad. It does resonate HD noise pretty bad (almost an echo effect when seeking). I'm either going to use elastic bands in a 5-1/4" bay or I'm going to get a HD encl...

As for AC NV Silencers that fit 7600GT cards, the above thread shows a good example. I might go for one for an XFX card myself.
