If you take the higher-airflow-preferring Ultra-120 eXtreme out of the league, the Ninja is the best heatsink out there..low airflow or not. And the push-pins are maybe not the best idea (screw that Intel-idea), but using the same bracket, with the push-pins ripped off, you can bolt-through perfectl...

The new Radeon HD2400 and HD 2600 both have got the UVD-tech.
They are maybe even smarter choise over the GeForce 8600, if you don't game, that is.

I dunno about nVidia's 8400-series encoding capabilities..

Load: Seasonic S12-380 108 W, Silverstone ST40EF 114 W, Fortron Zen 400 W 120 W.

Doesn't really look like it's more efficient @ load

Just chose a 1200 rpm fan or an undervolted @7v 1600. That's basically your answer to the question.. But you need to be aware that the cooling power of the 120-Extreme is pretty much overkill for any CPU at almost any fanspeed . I think you could get a pretty quiet setup with whatever CPU almost dep...

Maybe you'll also reconsider the SilenX -HD-box.

SilenX hasn't really got a good reputation here, and probably the best HD-box is the Scythe Quiet Drive.

I've seen that it's possible [Madshrimps.be] to cool a 8800GTS with a HR-03 passive using little airflow in a case....though, what's their view on little airflow.. Furthermore, experimenting can consume a lot of time on the P180/182. It's possible, depending on your motherboard, that ducts are obsol...

@ ManC

The NV-series @12v are pretty loud. I've had one myself.

You could undervolt them via fanmate or similar. This would bring the fan/wind noise to nearly in audible. But you'll still hear some bearing-rumble, if you listen carefully.

Blabla.

Sorry but I guess the construction of your Tuniq Tower is all to blame for the results.
On my Ninja (little to no airresistance) temps improved moving from an scythe to a Noctua (both @5v)
The tuniq Tower is probably one of the worst performers when it comes to low-airflow.

I guess for ub0r-diehard overclockers it's not.. But I guess a bit of flow from a inaudible fan is more than enough for the MOSFET's.
