Re: NZXT Source S340 Mid Tower
I hate to bring this back from the dead, but I'm considering this case and have the Mugen Max. How much foam was used to quiet the fan vibration, and is it blatantly obvious and detracting from the looks of the install?

Re: Scythe Mugen Max vs Kotetsu?
Ended up buying the Mugen Max, and I got 5 Arctic F12 PWM fans for $20 as a clearance bundle. When it arrives I have to debate about using the F12s, my old Scythe Gentle Typhoons (900rpm I think?), or keep my Enermax PWMs. The enermax are completely silent from where I sit, but I worry they're a lit...

Re: Scythe Mugen Max vs Kotetsu?
In the US, the U14S is over double the price of the Mugen Max, and 2.5x the price of the Kotetsu.

Re: Scythe Mugen Max vs Kotetsu?
Right now I have a 3570K at 4.3Ghz. I'll be getting a 7600K (or newer when released) and OCing that as well.
So you recommend the Mugen max?

Re: Scythe Mugen Max vs Kotetsu?
I can get them locally in the US for $30/36, with the Max being the more expensive. The Noctua is about $75. I could even pick up the Fuma for $45, if it would be the better option. I would have to mount the fans higher, as I have all 4 ram slots taken up. The ramsinks are a standard, low profile si...

Scythe Mugen Max vs Kotetsu?
Looking to upgrade the cooling in my system from a CM 212+, and also anticipate upgrading from a 3570k to a Kaby/Coffee shortly, so I'm in the market for a new cooler. Focus is cool and QUIET while still giving me a good OC. The quieter the better, obviously. Anyone have any opinions about these two...

If you go to www.hardforums.com and look in the cases section, Spottswood is making them up for people. They look to be pretty damn solid and well designed, and he won a few magazine contests with his cases.

Kingwin RVT-12025 I can't comment on the fan involved on it, as I have the Xigmatek version , but mine DID come with a 4 pin PWM fan. I replaced it immediately with a 7v Yate Loon, but I did have to plus the Xigmatek fan in to my CPU header on my motherboard to power the system on, and it sounded q...

The 9000 is a Xigmatek OEM. I'm using the Xigmatek S1283, which is the tower version, and it's fantastic, cheap, and more effective than my ninja. Xigmatek version: here The Xigmatek I'm using: here I got the 1283 from Newegg for $35, slapped a 7v yate loon on it, and it lowered my temps significant...

I just installed the Xigmatek, using the thermalright bolt through kit, and have a 5v Yate Loon on it. It lowered my temps drastically over the Ninja I had installed before, same bolt kit, same exact fan. Definitely some quality stuff, though it might not be the BEST, it's definitely a TRUE competit...

Installed the Xigmatek version today, same TIM, replacing a Ninja. First off, is it just me or is that Shin Etsu REALLY thick? Secondly, I put a layer on the HSF, spread it as best I could, then put a dollop on the CPU. Temps went down about 3c idle, but at load, it went down about 10-15c. This is w...

I had the case in silver, it was a pain in the ass. Had 3 of the coolermaster riflebearing LED fans in it (the supposedly quiet ones) and it was so loud, I couldn't sleep with it on in the OTHER room. If you're looking at that case, look at the Silverstone TJ05, looks VERY similar, 120mm fans, and a...

Silverstone TJ02/TJ04 airflow concerns?
I was looking at replacing my Fong Kai FK-330, and the Silverstone TJ02 and 04 really caught my eye. My only concern is that there'd be a lack of airflow with a solid front panel. I'd be running two Yate Loon 120mm fans on the case, and another Yate Loon on my Ninja, but the case would be on carpet ...

S12 600w fan rattle?
Not sure what's going on with my seasonic, but the past few months, the fan has been rattling. It started as a sporadic clicking, but lately I'd say it's up to about 25% of the time the computer is on. If I press on the fan grill to stop the fan and let it immediately start back up, the rattle is go...
