Small, simple m-itx/m-atx case for server, 2x 3.5"+2x 5
Looking for small case for my server, need room for 4 hdds, no optical drive.
Ideally it would be a cube-style case, with 4x 5.25" but closest I've found is Lian-Li PC-V350/351 which has 2x3.5 and 2x5.25.
I like the styling very much though, so what other similar sort of cases there are?

Looking for a case with only 5.25" bays
I need to suspend 5 drives, and 5.25" bays would seem to be the easiest way to do that. I've found Sharkoon Rebel 9 and Lian Li PC-A17 . Sharkoon: http://www.aijaa.com/img/b/00987/2713123.jpg Lian Li: http://www.aijaa.com/img/t/00881/2713113.t.jpg By the looks of them suspending should be pretty eas...

Mixed advice, which is quite like I feel about it too. I've tinkered with my friend's P180 a bit, and what I definitely do not like about it is the cramped lower hdd cage, Solo gives much easier access to disks. Now I've seen some pics about P180 here with the lower fan and its mount removed, that w...

P150 or P182 for a E6850, 8800GT, 4 HDD setup?
Need a case for my new system with the above parts. I'm thinking P150 might be better for HDDs because it's suspension mounts. I would put 4th disk in Scythe Quiet Drive. Can I have as quiet system hdd-wise in P182? How about cooling, my 8800GT has Accelero S1 so I guess it'll heat up the main chamb...

How to connect two UPS batteries in series?
I have a Powerware 5110 UPS that uses 2x 7Ah batteries. And naturally when I removed the old batteries I didn't think to make note how the cables were connected.. So here's a picture with batteries and cables, if you could tell me which end goes where I'd be very thankful :) http://www.student.oulu....

thejamppa: ECS 8800GT is available in Finland: Clicky I bought mine from there. 20-30 euros more expensive than cheapest 512mb 8800 gt and S1 bought separately, but then again with this there won't be any problems with warranty if it's needed. Have to say that I don't particularly like the Turbo Mod...

HD 3850 + Accelero S1 - is 500rpm Scythe fan enough?
I've got 3850 in P182, no HDDs in the upper chamber, Scythe 1200rpm fans @ 7V in front and back.
I'm considering getting S1 for my card - will 500rpm fan be enough for it or should I get the 800rpm version?

3TB fileserver/all-purpose comp in Solo, question about gfx
Comp will be on 24/7 and while I cannot make it silent I would like it to be really quiet. Nexus DiskTwins in P180?
I've migrated my server from Stacker into P180 in an effort to make it quieter. Currently I have 8 HDDs, so I need to place two in the 5.25" bays.
Nexus DiskTwin looks like a reasonably good solution, but I'm wondering if P180's drive rails will fit? Anyone have experience with both?

Putting something like in a basement is all fine and good, but as I mentioned in my first post I'll be moving into one room apartment, and that severely limits the options. Not that I'd have so much money to spend in any case. And money is the issue with eSata option as well because 1TB drives are t...

I am still interested in the Stacker concept as a storage solution mostly because of inexpensive drives. I have worked out that for the cost of 4x 1TB drives you can buy a stacker, and an entire PC (low end) to put into it and 12x 500GB drives - which is why I was interested, the problem of course ...

Vaiski can you give us some more info about your current setup, and have you identified whether the majority of the noise is due to the drives directly (noisy drives), drive caused noise (rattles and vibration), or fan noise. I haven't done anything to make my server quieter, and consequently haven...

4TB of storage quietly?
Currently my fileserver is Coolermaster Stacker with 12 HDDs, noisy as hell but as it is in the kitchen corner that hasn't been a problem. Now however I'm moving into a one room apartment and I need a more quiet storage solution. I've been thinking about 4x Seagate 1TB disks for storage, and one dis...

Maximum usb cable length for external dvd-writer?
I'm considering getting an external dvd-writer for my htpc to ease the burning process a bit.
But I'm wondering that what's the maximum cable length I can use?
And could I use a longer cable if I have a powered usb-hub sitting there between the drive and the computer?
