What kinds of temperatures are you getting with the Noctua and did you have any installation issues at all?

And wasn't that the original Ninja and not the Ninja B in the SPCR test?

I'd really like to hear how the Noctua is doing with the P5B. Any probs with installation or temps? The Ninja would be an option if it wasn't so iffy on installation and cooling temps.

I'm not sure I want to deal with the Ninja after everything I've read. And The Zalman seems a bit noisy also from what I'm hearing.

Does anyone have any experience with the Noctua NH-U12F on the P5B Deluxe?

Are you happy with the temperatures you're getting from your motherboard with the Ninja?

If not, I would have to wonder what kind of alternatives there might be for the P5B.

So you are overclocking then with those temps? If you are, would you be able to run a few tests to see what you get at normal settings? I'm wondering if I should be trying the Zalman 9700 which I'm reading may be a little louder but reduce the CPU heat a bit more. Of course, that may not be correct ...

Thanks so much for your feedback. It appears you do not have a front intake fan installed. It just looks like you left the mount. I was not planning on using a fan there myself. I can't quite tell if you have a fan located next to your PSU or not. If you're just running the two top case fans with th...

The Raptor is quiet on occasion, sometimes when it's under heavy load you'll hear it, but the Raptor is coming from my current system and will be used as a scratch drive for Photoshop, Vegas Video and Sound Forge. I'll more than likely be purchasing a 500GB drive as a media storage unit and possibly...

Cooling a P5B-Deluxe

Can someone give me a recommendation for heatsink, fan and thermal grease for the P5B-Deluxe mobo/E6600? Is it true the Ninja still requires filing when using the P5B Deluxe (because of the capacitors) or has this been corrected somehow by the manufacturer? I'm using a P180B case so I already have t...

Any chance you know where I might find the arcticles? A lot of that recommendation depends on your unspecified audio/video encoding software. I do a lot of DivX encoding. For that, a Core2 Duo does an excellent job. When it hits the video encoding leg it pegs out 100% on both cores and finishes fast...

Can you provide a link to the board on Newegg? I'm seeing these two boards so I'm not sure which it is: 1. GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard 2. GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard I'm assuming it's the latter? Also, how were you ab...

I'm actually using Vegas Video for my encoding. At least most of it anyway. For audio, Sound Forge.

I've seen some of the benchmark tests that have been linked to and they look quite impressive when the E4300 is overclocked. The thing is, I have never been one to overclock although I've heard of people doing it. So that said, I have no idea how unsafe the practice may be when done to the letter. A...

Well, I've read the reviews and I decided to go with the P180B. I picked it up from Antec as a Stock B for $104 with shipping. Not too bad. Thanks for your response. I've read a few bits and pieces from the P180 review, but I will give it a more thorough look later this morning as you've suggested. I'm not totally against the case, but I would like to be able to easily get my PCI cards, as well as hard drives. Maybe it's fairly easy wit...

Building a new PC and would like some advice

I'm looking to build a PC that's going to take me into 2010 and beyond. So with that in mind, I need components that are going to work with Vista down the road. So that means a fairly powerful PC, but meanwhile trying to stay on a fairly strict budget of around no more than $200-$300 per part so to ...
