It could be that your psu fan and or cpu/case fans are nearly the same frequency, so they are creating some "beat" effect among the frequencies. Since the beats go away over time, either your cpu/case fan or psu fan is picking up speed (due to heat) so the frequencies become different enough so tha...

Intermittent PSU Hum At Startup. Goes Away. What is it?
Howdy all. Wondering if someone can identify what this sound I'm hearing is. When I first turn on my PC, for the first ten minutes or so, I get an intermittent low frequency hum sound that revs up and then stops. Then revs up and stops. After about 10 or 15 minutes, it slowly starts getting quieter ...

I bought an Antec NeoHe 430w a few weeks ago. Seemed to work fine until installing a 7900 GS graphic card. Now, 90% of the time the system loads up perfectly with great performance. 10% of the time, I boot and get weird POST beeps. Have tried troubleshooting everything and have found nothing. Have n...

^^ I did try to splice the wires (red and black). I used the 3-pin plug that comes back from the included Fan Controller (leaving the yellow wire not plugged into anything). Didn't work. Are you suggesting I should be splicing the wires that come directly from the Zalman itself? Also, wouldn't leavi...

VF-900CU (3-pin vs. 2-pin help!)
Howdy, Just installed the VF-900CU on my VGA card. Only problem is that my card has a 2-pin fan control input and my motherboards' only 3-pin fan control is already being used for the case fan. Any advice on what to do? Right now I am using an older card while I figure out a remedy. Many many thanks...

Zalman VF70-cu vs. Zalman VF70-Alcu
This may sound like a stupid question. But I've spent the past hour trying to figure out what difference, if any, exists between Zalman's VF70-cu and the VF70-Alcu.
Planning on installing one of them on my 7900 gs (BFG - waay loud!).
Any difference of note between these two products?
Thanks.

Newb Help - Ball Bearing Noise
Have read many of the fine articles on this site but haven't gotten an answer to what is probably a real newb question. Just replaced my 300 watt OEM PSU for the first time with a StarTech Professional 450 watt ATX12V PSU. Installation was easy and it definitely works. However, it emits a noticeable...
