Thank you, that looks a bit like what I am looking for. I am struggling with how to attach it: - If I mount it inside, it's difficult to take out and clean regularly. I don't have easy access to the removable side panel. - If I mount it outside, the four screw holes in the case are already used by t...

Fan filter for Antec P182 rear fan
I have inverted the rear fan to keep the CPU cooler as it was receiving too much hot air from the graphics card. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to install an air filter over what was the CPU exhaust. Are there easily workable solutions to this problem that don't involve cutting the grille out? ...

I have an old Sonata original Antec 380W (single fan version) it is a doddle for this PSU to power my server inculding my 4 drive RAID-5 setup, my drives make more noise than everything else - mostly due to vibration. Why are you concerned.? Not concerned. I just didn't know how it worked and could...

HDD power supply for noobs
I'm trying to establish the power requirements for a RAID 5 system. How do the +5 and +12 lines work on a HDD: do I have the choice of which one to use, or do I have to use both together? This chart seems to imply it's an either or choice. However, I have read somewhere that supplying +5V only would...

If you mean a PSU which is designed to be external to the case, there aren't many available capable of powering a typical desktop system and those few that are available are apparently not very good. Yes that's what I mean. I saw the MGE XG 600 (http://www.xgbox.com/). On paper it looks interesting...

Why isn't there more about external PSUs?
As the title says. It seems to me it is the best way to remove a major source of heat from within the case, while allowing the power supply to be passively cooled with decent airflow. Seeing as you people are brighter and more knowledgeable than me, if you shun that option there must be a reason I h...

angelkiller, here you go, from the horse's mouth (not sure Intel will be chuffed about the analogy )

There's a pitcure somewhere in the middle that explains it well for me.

Selecting a P965 motherboard
Hello, I've been reading for a little bit and am getting slowly drawn into the world of silent PCs. Resistance is, of course, futile, but before I take the plunge, has anyone escaped with their sanity intact? :D Don't know if I'm posting in the correct forum but I'm starting a system from scratch. I...

Hello, newbie here. I've been looking at that motherboard (and others), hence my reply. First question I would have is "are you *absolutely sure* you have the RAID southbridge on this card?" IIRC, Gigabyte only makes it available on the DQ6 and DS4, not the DS3. I could be wrong though. Second thing...
