Would the PW-200-V & Dell DA-2 be enough?
Never mind, ordered the gear and hopefully it'll be enough for my needs.

Low power HTPC, HD/Bluray capable
Hello fellow SPCR'ians, I have decided that I want to upgrade / replace my current P4 HTPC with something more power efficient...I have been doing some research for the past month or so but I am still at a loss as to which setup would be the best for me. I am willing to go with either AMD / Intel (w...

Hmm...the specs of your machine doesn't seem to add up to too big of a power drain on the PSU, my VX450 is currently running a P4EE, 8600GTS, 2 hard drives and it is whisper quiet...I can't hear it from half a meter away...maybe you got a bad sample...I am very happy with mine. Just to make sure, ar...

According to some guys at the NCIX forums (LINK) the Ninja fits the Asus Maximus Formula with no issues.
So I'd say that you'd be fine.

If you're worried about the heat, just replace the stock heatsink with the Accelero S1 and you should see the temps drop between 10-20*C depending on if you put a fan on it or near it. The 8800GT is an awesome card to have in your system, you should be able to play most games (except for Crysis, of ...

However... the two western digital hard drives seem louder than ever! That's the problem, once you've made the rest of the system barely audible or inaudible, there is always the hard drives... I have the same issue, before I adventured into the whole "I-want-a-system-that-can-barely-be-heard" I co...

It seems that it doesn't interfere with larger sized heatsinks...at least not the Ninja...according to The Techreport We were even able to squeeze a massive Ninja CPU heatsink onto the socket without interfering with the chipset cooler. And BTW this will most likely be my next upgrade, together with...

Re: Can you cool 3-way SLI with Zalman Reserator 2?
^^ as topic tilte says, can you cool 3-way SLI with Zalman Reserator 2? Note that the tubing will only run through the 3 VGAs, and not the processor or anything else. Well, I don't know personally but it might not perform as well as a custom watercooling setup...but then again not much will. Althou...

Yeah that helps, thanks. 70 is a bit hotter then i'd like to se really. I was hoping for something more like 65 max. On the other hand it's not a problem. The card should be able to handle that easily. And sticking the fan closer to the heatsink might help as well, specially at low flow rates. Aele...

Well, I have made some upgrades to my system, the most significant one being upgrading my X1950Pro Crossfire to an 8800GT 512Mb, and I must say that it was well worth it. Now I can play any game I want (except for Crysis, but I'm not too fussed about that as I don't really play it) on high at 1920x1...

Nah I meant plug it into the CPU connector, run the CPU fan off that plus all the case fans,,, but I imagine the smart monitoring would trip out :P The quad connector plugs straight onto your powersupply, so you could still run your CPU fan of the CPU fan header...this one would probably be the eas...

I'm running several 7v-trick connectors and I have not had any issues what soever with them so I'd say that they are safe (but don't quote me on it...). First of all: Welcome to SPCR! What you could do is, get 2 Nexus 120mm fans, hook them up to your motherboard and then control the speed of them using Speedfan , this way you can set them to spin at lower RPMs so that they become inaudible (or close too) and still get decent airflow through your sys...

Plans for quiet computer systems and parts shop in Oz
Hello, This is mainly directed at all Australians of SPCR... So...I'd like to run a little bit of a poll of what you guys ...

Motherboards also, usually, have onboard USB connectors that you can connect front panel ports to. http://au.asus.com/610/images/products/1160/1160_l.jpg By looking at this pict...
