Re: Galaxy Tab vs iPad: Aluminum vs Plastic, strength & weig
I'm in the injection molding business. We are manufacturing automotive parts. Other than 'standard' materials such as ABS, PP, PE, there are also endless number of materials, which we call engineering plastics. These are resins that are being produced by mixing different off-the-shelf plastics with ...

One desktop amp that got quite an attention on the net was NuForce's Icon.
I have read very good reviews on the audophile forums.

Update: Since I didn't want to let it go so easily, I re-installed FF3. Then I ran Filemon utility to check the file activity when running FF3. And success. As some of you may already know, Firefox has a feature (under Tools- Options- Security) to monitor the sites that are being visited by users an...

I just took the plunge today and installed FF3. Prior to installing, I uninstalled FF2 and made a clean install. Sorry guys/gals, but I hate to admit that the current version is a total mess. The CPU usage is jumping up and down, reaching 100% occasionally and making the browser totally unusable. Af...

Thermalright HSC100 - Heatpipe cooling case
IIRC, Thermalright had announced this a year ago or so, now it was shown to public at Computex 2007.

IMHO, Apple's marketing is just phenomenal. All the secrecy about their upcoming products (created by Apple itself, of course) is attracting millions of people to their stores. People are constantly monitoring blogs for the last minute rumors, hands-on reviews, spy pictures etc. We have to give thei...

I am a die-hard Eizo fan. Impressive picture quality, hands down. However, recently I came across to the all-new Lenovo L220x. This is the first 22" screen with HD (1920x1200) resolution. And it has a S-PVA panel. It comes with 4 USB ports, supports HDCP and has a very neat cable management system, ...

Heh, yes, it isn't cheap. But I see that as an investment. I spend a lot of time in front of the computer, so a chair with endless adjustment possibilites to be able to sit comfortable was important for me. As for the cost, well, given the years that I'll be using it, it's not that bad. It's already...

I'm curious: which direction does the air flow? I'm curious about the energy balance. Real mass (air) is being accellerated from standstill to a moving column of air, just like a regular fan. Thus, the air gains kinetic energy. This energy has to come from somewhere. So at least one of the two elec...

I think this heatsink should do good mostly if you have a fan on the case panel, otherwise it shouldn't perform too well. And you could connect the fan on the HSF to a fan on the side panel with a duct. Run both fans at the lowest rpm and there you'd have a nice setup. This would also let you *I th...

OK, since we XP users are ignorant dinosaurs, I'd like to know a couple of things about the new Vista. 1) Does it still have a Registry? 2) Do you still have to deal with dynamic link library files spread over the whole windows directory? Do they get cleaned completely after an uninstall or is it po...

Keep in mind that in addition to the "360mm" side intake fan, there's also a 220mm front intake fan. With those two huge intakes, the air has to escape from inside the case back to the outside somehow. One 120mm rear fan hole with a grill on it isn't gonna do a very good job! :D Looking at your out...
