Corsair Module Failed

One of my two Corsair XMS2 6400C4 DDR2 1024MB modules failed today, only two months old, only used the computer for web browsing etc!

Is it unusual for such a young Corsair module to fail like this?

PC won't boot anymore, think it may be PSU?

Hi, I have had the PC in my sig up and running for over two months, but yesterday it seems to have stopped working. This is what happened: 1) During normal use (Outlook) the PC froze, couldn't move the mouse and no HD activity, but display still up. I turned it off by holding the power button for 4 ...

Sorry to be so late but thanks for the replies. More detail on the problem: 1) It happens after the PC is operating without problems. I.e. It'll be running fine for anything for a few minutes to several hours before it happens 2) Every time it happens, the HDD light stops working properly too and is...

Opitcal Drive problem

A month ago I built the PC in my sig. My Optical Drive is being annoying recently. It's a SATA Samsung DVD+/-RW. The problem is it keeps losing power and/or Windows will not recognise it unless I restart, I've checked all the connections and they're fine. And it was working fine before! Also, someti...

It's supposed to be one of the best and has many branded products as options in the drop down lists such as your QX6700 or the 8800GTX in SLI. I put in your specs making a few assumptions where the detail wasn't high enough (eg. opti...

The only other thing I would suggest is to double-check your RAM with the Asus compatibility list if you haven't already. I ended up getting OCZ memory for my Asus board because they seemed to have the fewest reported stability issues. Yes it is on the QVL list :D And I'll post back the 7300 passiv...

Re: Final Planned System after SPCR Advice

Most people in this forum have said that Nexus 120mm = Yate Loon 12SL. That being the case, I'm not sure why anyone would pay 4 times as much for a Nexus. I keep leaning towards the Nexus because of the "you get what you pay for" rule, but then the "there's a sucker born every minute" rule beats it...

I have some questions. You never play games, but do you do something, that requires such a powerful cpu? P150 would be cheaper then solo + NeoHE, don't you like white? I prefer piano black :P and the P150 is £100 in UK whereas SOLO + NeoHE380 is £90 (though money is not a concern). I use video me...

Final Planned System after SPCR Advice

After deciding on a system from reading SPCR, I starting posting and my planned system changed quite a lot surprisingly. Here is my final choice which I will be ordering VERY soon Case: Antec SOLO (P180 too large for me) PSU: Antec NEO HE380GB CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 HS: ThermalRight Ultra 120 w...

Out of curiosity, what will you be doing with this computer? Sometimes I participate in DC projects, which will be the most CPU intensive tasks. Otherwise I use video calls a few hours a day due to being at a distance to my fiancée (uses about 75% of CPU on a P4 3.0GHz with HT) a lot of the time a...

3rded about the PSU, though I'd disagree about the 7300GT - performance is similar to a 7600GS and (if you're so inclined) they overclock like crazy, almost but not quite up to 7600GT levels. Still, if you're not playing games, what do you need a discrete GPU for? If it's for Vista, then I'm sure e...

Thanks for the advice, especially about the PSU.

About the budget, I have a set amount that I don't really want to go over or under ($1550/£800), so not worried about saving cash but obviously now (due to PSU advice) I have an extra £31/$60 to spend elsewhere... ideas? :D

Planned System - old, don't reply

Hi, I've been reading this site for a while and have planned a system. This is pretty much at the limit of my budget which is why I haven't gone for P5B Deluxe etc. Antec P182 (should be available in UK very soon) Corsair HX 520W EDIT - Changed to Seasonic S12 330 Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Scythe Ninja...

Questions about x64 Vista

Hi,

I'm a bit confused about what is required for 64 bit Vista.

1) What is required for 64 bit? If you have a 64 bit processor such as E6600 is that enough? Or are there many other factors to take into account?

2) Is is much different to the 32 bit edition and is it worth it?
