Yes I have. My rig in the gallery: http://www.silentpcreview.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=39335 Wouldnt recommend this cooler+fan for hot systems. Cools adequate but when things get hot the fan gets loud. Real loud. In a system that doesnt get hot its very nice. It takes little space and at low revs i...

Software fan- and cpu speed/voltage control question

How to configure SpeedFan and CrystalCPUID, so that :

- they start @windows start with correct settings.
- resticted users cannot mess with their settings.
- admin can tweak them.

Any other programs that do the same are as good for me.

Quiet DVD player (drive) ?

Looked for it here but cant find it...

Advice on a good, quiet DVD player ?

My computer is quiet, but all hell breaks loose when the dvd burner spins up

The drive doesnt need to be fast, just for movie/music playback.
Something that one would find in a normal home-dvd-player ?

I must add for anyone who'd like to copy all or part of it:
The Abit NF-2M-nView is an easier motherboard for this purpose.
No tight ddr voltage but everything adjustable instead. Better.
If you can do without the onboard printerport and TV-out of the Asus board, that is, the Abit hasn't got them.

Rubber: superglue is good as felger says.
Silicone: use silicone-sealant.

Did u clean the 2 surfaces ? Very important!
Clean with terpentine, thinner, acetone or the like.

Dynamic power consumption:

Depends on V^2 * F

Where:
F is the switching frequency.
V is the Voltage applied.

So:
Half the frequency -> half power.
Half the voltage -> quarter of the power !

E.g.:
0.90V instead of 1.35V: 50% reduction of dissipated heat !

 crap. I run an undervolted AMD 64 X2 4200+ EE (ADO4200IAA5CU) This TCaseMax tool doesnt know it. No TDP given, 939 reported (its 65Wtdp, AM2 in fact). Its official startup voltage isnt 1.100V, but 1.25-1.35V (if I remember correctly). Good undervolting: 5x216MHz @0.90V 9x216MHz @1.03V 11x216MH...

Today a small test: 0 rpm cpu fan...
After 10 minutes idle: Core:36C CPu:34 MainBoard:37C

The cpu must be dissipating hardly any heat since the Susurro cooler isnt very big.

P.S. room temp is 20C here.

Quiet, fast, small & not expensive. My new machine.

Hi all. I am new here... I have been looking here for 7 months though. Great site, it helped me a lot. I hope to tribute to this site by making my experiences in building a silent PC publicly available in return. I am a 38y old electronic engineer. I had a dream... After 18 years of computer noise i...
