Sorry, no. A single 8800 GTX specifies an outrageous 30A requirement on the 12V line. For SLI it's even more - you'd even need four (two for each) PCI-E power connectors for them! The Phantom has 17A+18A on its 12V rails and could drive a single 8800 GTS I believe ("only" 24A required). It even has ...

Cooling two graphics cards passively + non-SLI compatibility
I'm thinking of adding a second graphics card in my silent system. I have an Antec P180, running P5B Deluxe WiFi + E6600 with a Ninja. Currently I'm using an XFX 7600GS that is passive in stock. It is cooled only by one 120mm Nexus at 600 rpm at the front of the motherboard chamber. I might buy an A...

Yes, you need to press the cover down with significant force to get the screw holes aligned. This is a good thing of course, we want the heat transfered out via a good contact between the inner and outer box. Just lean on the cover with one hand. I'm not sure how well it cools completely passively. ...

I just added a Quiet Drive on my 320GB Seagate 7200.10, and the idle whoosh practically disappeared. I assume it should work on a Raptor as well. (My HD temps went down 4°C!) It's my only hard drive and I have it in the bottom PSU chamber. Cramming it back there with a Quiet Drive was just barely d...

I just crammed a Scythe Quiet Drive in the HDD/PSU-compartment of my P180 and it's a pretty tight fit. For now it's just sitting on two pieces of foam on the edges to leave at least a bit of room for air underneath it. It barely clears the metal chassis on sides at the front - you need to push it al...

Oh, it seems the Windows SMP client is viable too, I'll give it a try at some point. Too bad they're all beta and it eventually expires - I don't want to have baby-sit it. Hopefully there will be a more final version soon. Changing between clients could be an annoyance, with getting current work fin...

I am running this setup on a Core2Duo on WinXP and I am getting 1760 points every day or so... Dang, then I should set it up as well, it would triple my production. Feels unreal, what's the catch? I'm running two clients on my E6600 24/7 for now. Just use a 64-bit linux on a virtual machine, right?...

Just started folding this month. I figured I might as well - for the time being - do something with the power at my disposal that has been idling since some time last year. I chose your team especially since the machine is so silent thanks to the ideas and inspiration from cmthomson's Core 2 Duo rig...
