It might be great for naps in the middle of a noisy day or when there's a too-noisy night-time party in the neighborhood. You might be kept awake by your own heartbeat and breathing noise... Those oxyxen consumption/CO2 poisoning calculations don't seem to take into account metabolic rate, which wo...

I don't understand how four fans can be more silent than one or two fans. Given that they run at the same speed. I think in this context, they don't... Imagine a simple box, with an intake hole and an exhaust hole. If you only put a fan on the intake, this fan will have to work harder to push air t...

I know it's just paper, but the buzz-strip might slow the fan down at lower voltage? On a more general note, if every fan or vibration in your PC was turned to the same note or chord, would it sound quieter (sensitivity of human ear to dischord) or would harmonics and sympathetic vibration passing t...

The multiplier is 10x on that chip, so the bus speed must be set at 100. If the CMOS isn't holding onto that, check the battery, it may be dead and resetting everytime. Also doublecheck that the BIOS is updated and any jumpers on the board are set properly. If the bus speed is set correctly to 166 ...

Looking at the interior design of the Noblesse SE, I'd say either my case is not a GMC, or the SE is underengineered compared with mine! I did identify your case, but I edited my post late, so maybe you missed it. Your case is a Jeantech Noblesse JNN200 . Doesn’t look like it’s produced anymore...

Looking at the interior design of the Noblesse SE, I'd say either my case is not a GMC, or the SE is underengineered compared with mine! I sent an email to GMC's "German" department asking if there were any UK stockists for the X-21, or any shops in germany who would shit an X-21 to Wales... no repl...

AMD: CPU Identity problem.
I'm running the PC-chips M848A, with an e-buyer el-cheapo PSU. My Processor is an AMD Sempron 2400+ (retail box, so it's definitely that!), yet it's been reporting at boot time as an Athlon MP@1GHz. http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e273/Emyr42/cpu-z.gif For a while it did report correctly, although...

Chances of finding a GMC supplier in the UK based on previous Noblesse SPCR forum threads? Slim to None :? Some Jeantech cases are rebadged GMC, and PC World sell Jeantech cases. No Jeantech X-21 though... The GMC Trinity X-21 seems to have had quite a few good reviews, especially from a noise POV:...

This looks like modified GMC(not car mfg. but Korean case maker) Nobless case. Or copy of it which are altered a bit by different mfg. I have Black/Blue 1st gen of this case. This almost looks like between 1st gen and 2nd but it's not since I can see some hook up on top of front panel. also 1st gen...

Re: FAQ for Newbies -- Identifying the noise sources.
Except that computers aren't idling at boot time, are they? I guess if you had a very low ambient temp, and/or a very short boot sequence, you could get away with it...?Shadowknight wrote:Or you could stick a pencil/pen whatever in the PSU before you turn it on

Name this case (I want to buy another!)
I'm about to build a new PC, but want a similar or the same case as my old PC. I find most new cases are either very garish and ugly, or simply out of my price range; I'd rather buy a cheaper case and spend on a faster CPU or more RAM than spend £80 on a P180! I didn't build the machine, and there ...
