I don't think I explained very well. The old computer unfortunately is going to my girlfriend as it is not that old. So this will be an entirely new build. I say "might try a different case" - this means, as opposed to by the exact same case as last time. Anywhere else, you think I could chop a few ...

To start off: A guy asks his waiter how they prepare their chicken. The waiter says that there's nothin' special... we just flat out tell' em they're gonna die... A piece of bacon leans over to the sausage frying gently by his side: "I tell you what, it's getting pretty hot in here don't you think?"...

Fixed! Fixed bloody fixed! Thank you kristian. following your advice of the power being a slight problem the source of the problem was this: The mobo came with an 8-pin aux power connector and a little 4 pin stopper on one side, showing only 4. I assumed this was because the mobo works just as well ...

Mobo for E6750?
Coming from my other system build thread: here was wondering which E6750 board would be best. Kind of need Wifi and am thinking if its better to get it onboard or to buy a slightly cheaper board and add a separate pci wifi card. I've so far only really looked at the possibility of the Intel P35 chip...

Okk cool, just found out that the price drop is currently in, woo! So E6750 is now officially the choice of sense as it is actually 20 pounds cheaper than the E6600 E6600 costs £138.23 inc VAT and the E6750 costs £118.74 inc VAT - Sweet! So now mobo's need changing, and then im done with my build ...

Ah thanks very much for that link merlyn, very much appreciated! Tells indeed that the E6750 is generally strictly better and faaaar cooler, so "Why not get anything else?!" as it so eloquently puts it! And thankx alex, so if its 30 quid(ish) more, then no problem, i was actually thinking that i wou...

Oh no! Just reading over Alexs comments talking about getting a tricked-out motherboard, allowing for a e6750 in place of an e6600. So i check on ebuyer (where im shopping) and they have none in stock, but then i check ebay and there are a few uk sellers that have e6750's in stock - cheaper than an...

2xCPU heatsink fan I'm assuming that's one for the HSF, one for the case exhaust? You really don't need one on each side of the HSF. Other than that it all seems fair enough. The HSF is good, the case is held in high regard by most here, I'm not familiar with that PSU though. The specs suggest its ...

E6600 Newbie-Build - Now an E6750 system?!
